Poompatta is a Malayalam children's film, directed by B. K. Pottekkad (in his debut) and produced by V. M. Sreenivasan. Based on a short story by Karoor Neelakanta Pillai, the film stars Sridevi, Prema, Sankaradi and T. R. Omana. Sridevi won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for her performance in this film.The music was composed by G. Devarajan with lyrics by Yusufali Kechery.
Sarada becomes an orphan after her mother dies due to an illness. She is adopted by her stepmother, who ill-treats her.

മികച്ച കുട്ടികളുടെ ചിത്രം പൂമ്പാറ്റ അക്കാലത്ത് മികച്ച ബാലചിത്രത്തിനുള്ള അവാർഡ് ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഈ ചിത്രം കുട്ടികളെ കാണിക്കുന്നതിൽ രക്ഷകർത്താക്കൾ വിമുഖത കാട്ടിയിരുന്നു. കാരണം ഈ സിനിമയിലെ ബാലപീഡനങ്ങൾ തന്നെ. ശ്രീദേവിക്ക് സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന്റെ അവാർഡ് നേടിക്കൊടുത്ത (മികച്ച ബാലതാരം) സിനിമയാണ് ഇത്. ഈ സിനിമ കണ്ടിറങ്ങിയ കാണികൾ ചിലർ, ടി ആർ ഓമനയെ പുലഭ്യം വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു, അത്രക്ക് നെഗറ്റീവ് കഥാപാത്രമാണ് അവർക്ക് ഈ സിനിമയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ശ്രീദേവിക്ക് വേണ്ടി ശബ്ദം നൽകിയത് ഗായിക ലത രാജുവാണ്. ശാരി (നമുക്ക് പാർക്കാൻ മുത്തിരിത്തോപ്പുകൾ), സുഹാസിനി (കൂടെവിടെ), ശോഭന (കാണാമറയത്ത്) തുടങ്ങിയ ഒട്ടനവധി നായികമാർക്ക് അവർ ശബ്ദം നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. വളരെ നല്ല ഒരു സിനിമാ കണ്ട സംതൃപ്തി തോന്നി. ഒരു നല്ല മനസ്സിലെ ഇങ്ങാംയുള്ള കഥകൾ ഉണ്ടാകൂ നല്ല സംവിധാനം. ശ്രീ ദേവി എന്നനടിയുടെ ആദ്യ ചിത്രം ആണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഇതിൽ അഭിനയിച്ച എല്ലാം വളരെ നന്നായി അഭിനയിച്ചു അവരിൽ മിക്കവരും ഇന്ന് ജീവനോടെ ഇല്ല അതോർക്കുമ്പോൾ മനസ്സിന് വല്ലാത്ത വിഷമം. ഇത്രയും നല്ല ഒരു കഥ ഹൃദയംത്തിൽ തട്ടുന്ന വിധം എടുത്ത ഡയരക്ടർ ക്ക് പ്രണാമം. ഈ കഥ പുതിയ താരങ്ങളെ വെച്ച് Reemeakk ചെയ്‍താൽ തീർച്ചയായും വിജയിക്കും. 🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏 Babus Creations Kottayam 21.8.2024

കാരുണ്യവും സ്നേഹവും ഇല്ലാത്ത അസുര ജന്മങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും ഈ പടം ഒന്ന് കണ്ടിരിക്കണം. ഈ പടത്തിലെ ചില രംഗങ്ങൾ കണ്ണു നനയാതെ കാണാൻ പറ്റില്ല. അത്രയ്ക്ക് ഹൃദയം സ്പർശി യായ സിനിമാ. 😢😢😢😢😢 ❤ കെബി ❤

അത്ഭുതം തന്നെ, നമ്മുടെയൊക്കെ ബാല്യകാലത്തായിരുന്നു ശ്രീദേവി, കമൽഹാസൻ സിനിമ വന്നിരുന്നത്, endhorishtamayirunnu രണ്ടുപേരെയും, അവരുതമ്മിൽ കല്യാണം കഴിക്കണമെന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു 😜, എത്ര സുന്ദരി ആയിരുന്നു ശ്രീ.... പക്ഷേ അവസാനം പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് സർജറി ചെയ്ത് ചെയ്ത് എല്ലാം നശിപ്പിച്ചു, അവരോളം സൗന്ദര്യം ആർക്കുമില്ല.
