Thanks for the dough making tips that is the main thing , chocolate puran poli ....i thought the idea was to preserve our tradition ...........all other puran polis r fusion , dal puran poli is the only authentic one. That was not shown.

Usually in south of India, mainly udupi and Mangalore, we have jackfruit puran poli, coconut puran poli, karjoor puran poli, dal , Rava pooran poli, badam puran poli, sugar puran poli, it's called holige in udupi and Mangalore

@@divyabhat4511 it is maharashtra's famous sweet and there it is cooked only with dal and jaggery. chana dal. trade mark of maharashtra.I know in other states it is sometimes cooked differently .When we put mawa in puran poli it is called khava poli and its different.Border state gujrat uses toor dal . But in Maharashtra go any where and its chanadal and jaggery and cardamom.

Omg this is a recipe with completely unexpected ingredients. Don’t know why but I feel recipe is a bit complicated!!! Especially the stuffing and rolling part. Santosh made it with ease but I feel it requires practice.

Ur correct the Mawa is easy to make .. just smooth and add elaichi powder.. But dough requires a lot of patience and proper kneading....
