Excellent tip👍. A quick question. If you take the power away from the Fob for a long period of time do you need to get it Re programmed?

Never heard of that - had ones without a battery for months at a time with no issues - Cheer ENG!

Keeping your fob in a fully closed metal container when you're not using your car is also helping.

You mean keep BOTH fobs in metal box - good tip

I understand that vehicles have several wireless antennas. I was wondering if simply disconnecting or shielding the door antenna would solve the problem if you don't intend to use wireless entry. I saw one of your videos in which you turned off wireless entry by changing the computer setting of your Lexus. Would you by any chance know if a 2015 ES 350 has that option? I really enjoy watching your videos and appreciate the valuable information you give. I just subcribed to your channel. Keep up the great work!

Thanks OSL - Antennas can be located under the dash, in the roof etc so shielding them isn't practical really - as far as your ES 350 I'd spend a good few minutes going through every driver adjustable setting there is on the car - but it varies from year to year and from country to country whether or not you can change it - best advice these days is to install a hidden ignition / fuel kill switch - Cheers from Canada!

@@carquestions I agree with you that a kill switch is a must-have. For those on a budget, adding an Apple air tag (with speaker removed) is a cheap alternative to GPS trackers with monthy subscription fees. A person can also make it a little tougher on the thieves by relocating the OBD port and installing a dummy port in its place. While you're at it, mind as well put a lock on the OBD port or zip tie a cover on it. Of course, an old school steering wheel lock is a good visual deterrent and could slow down a thief even more. A faraday bag is good, but it's just one more thing you have to carry around. I appreciate your effort in trying to find the answer to my question. Cheers to you and Canada!👍👍👍

As a mechanic for over 40 years I've got to say cutting power to the fuel pump will definitely stop a car thief if the switch is well hidden or better yet wifi activated@@onespeedlite

@@carquestions That's awesome! It's true what the say. Everyone should know 3 good people in their lives: doctor, lawyer, and mechanic. I was wondering... does it matter if it cuts off the power to the fuel pump, starter, or battery? Is there an advantage of one over the other?

3 rules to follow - safe to install, easy to install, best hidden - ECM, ign, fuel, starter - starter would be my least favourite - too easy to find and bypass @@onespeedlite
