I just want to tell you that you are doing an amazing job with your channel and videos. I started following you since my first water start an your tips have really helped me progress! If I can suggest a topic for next video it would be on terminology used in kitesurfing since there is not very accurate info on KZbin.. terms like grunt, high end, low end, drift, etc. I think it it could help many people getting a higher theoretical knowledge of this discipline! great vid!! while you are popping, is the kite getting anywhere to 12 for some more lift? or is it mainly in the hard pop with good line tension?

The latter. A pop is always done without kite movement but instead with the stomping motion on the back foot and the short carve upwind for the scoop.

Hello Jesse. The kite is staying at the same angle, about 45 degrees (1030 Or 130). Or you can park the kite slightly higher to make things easier for practice. Yes, this trick uses board speed and line tension to pop not a rising kite. If you let the kite drift to 12 you will either jump too high or loose speed on landing.

Best stick with the established brands, more versions of your kite will have been made and therefore more testing done and more data on previous failures etc. I recommend Duotone, overall that is the most popular brand, the other big brands are Cabrinha, F-one, Slingshot and Core. If you go for a new or smaller brand you can get a deal, but then easily end up helping them find faults, and you may find that when you need a part replaced you can't get it. In my experience the click bar is by far the most durable bar. I've never had a bar last more than 6 months without repair (that's pretty normal for a frequent kiter, you have to replace worn parts) but I've had a click bar for 2.5 years with no repair needed yet, since I avoid getting sand in the winder mechanism. If you get sand in there I imagine it could ware out quickly. A good idea is to see what's available at your local shop, or check out the kite shapes video to work out what kind of kite would suit you. Best of luck, Alex.
