Hired this type of van (without pop-top) for a 2 week holiday to Scotland. Found the living layout terribly squashed & the dinette area, so uncomfortable. Agree it is a van for bikes stored in good weather as we found the van in Scotland with its changeable weather, meant the bikes in/out was a problem to sleep every night and every time opening of back doors, on bad weather days allowed the rain, wind, cold to blow-in. After this experience we knew we did not want a pop top because of UK weather, we did not want a rear garage storage area or a squashed living space in just half of the Van, or the Adria brand as preferred another manufacturers Van after hiring a few other types of CamperVans. Now we have purchased a rear lounge CamperVan & best choice made regarding layout and manufacturer. Best advice we were given, is hire a number of Vans from different manufacturers with different layouts before even contemplating buying & understand what works for you, as we all want different things from a Van and often you want what you think you don’t want!

Nice summary. We certainly wouldn’t swop our Autotrail 635SE for one for all the reasons you mention above.

Thank you for sharing your experience! A great way to find the van layout that suits is to hire different ones out or visit the shows to see lots of layouts in one day.

Table support pole touching the seat? That move out or adjust?

That’s not the outside tap. It’s the water filling point. That’s not the gas bottles, it’s the cassette toilet.
