Some lovely vans as ever Bob and great review I’ve always liked the Swift carrera a chap who lives opposite me has got one and it’s so nicely made and has some very thoughtful design - you wouldn’t miss that VW in a car park 😂 all the best to you all Daniel

Recently just hired an Adria twin supreme 640 slb. Nice van with decent wash room. Last year hired a Pilote premium V630 LG that was great and had a separate shower. I find these types of vans much easier for parking in car parks and some of the narrow lanes when touring Scotland.

Perhaps I'll have to hire one myself?

Have Auto sleeper Warwick XL, rear lounge with option of two singles or very large double. Full kitchen, but killer feature is toilet with separate shower. Great van and very versatile.

We've always liked the Warwick XL.

You asked about campervans, I have a Ford transit custom short wheel base but high top converted by auto campers and it’s great. Spent 82 days in Northern Europe and Scandinavia earlier in the year, went all the way to Nordkapp in the artic circle. Small enough to park in the middle of all the major cities for sightseeing. Did not book a site for the whole trip, just turned up, no issues.

I have a long wheelbase Vw T5.1 Riemo conversion by Nomad with Riemos hightop and it’s very versatile and surprisingly spacious inside even in sleeping mode

I've had an Autosleeper Symbol for 5 years and think it is great. Very stable on the motorway and car like to drive (I've the optional 3.0Ltr engine). The washroom is small but fully usable, we never use site facilities. It can also be used as a second car. For longer trips, only works for a couple with no pets I would suggest.

Sounds great. They are very sought after.

We had a VW T5.1 which was used as our main vehicle. It was great for day trips (fits into a normal car park space) and was a lovely drive, but we struggled as a family of 4 with 2 dogs to use it to go away in. Realistically you need to put an awning up every time as space is obviously limited. We also missed having a washroom coming from a caravan. Now back with a car and caravan and it’s so much easier, but would definitely have another if we had the money to run both vehicles.

Something that always appealed was having a camper towing a caravan.

@ that’s a vlog I’d like to watch…. Maybe there’s a dealer out there that could make that happen 😉🤞🏻

I tried a panel can conversion from a dealer once, but for insurance reasons, I couldn't drive it, which sort of defeats the purpose.

I've never tried a campervan, I would love one, though, as well...

I have a panel van conversion (Wildax Constellation). I’ve used the shower a lot and find it perfectly large enough. I prefer to use my onboard shower rather than campsite facilities as I find it more convenient not to have to take stuff on a walk to the site block.

I’d like to see the dreamer with front drop down double and the rear lounge

Maybe I'll see that at the Caravan and Motorhome show in February.

I’ve had two camper vans, which were good but the wet room was awful, they are just too small. I much prefer my 6 metre motorhome. It just feels more comfortable and cosy, plus it has a lovely separate shower which is bliss.
