Yay! Now I get to say I appeared on Popcorn in Bed! I worked on this film as a background performer. At 7:10, you can see me (the Japanese guy) sitting two seats to the left of the architect guy played by Brandon Crane. Brandon played young Ben in the 1990 version that starred Tim Curry as Pennywise. This scene was shot in downtown Toronto at 39 Stewart St in the Bathurst St/Wellington St area on Oct 8th, 2018, which was Thanksgiving Day in Canada. Driving down there from the suburbs took no time since it was really early (we started at 6 am), and since it was a statutory holiday, the city allowed you to park free at any metered spot. We were wrapped at 3 pm, which gave us plenty of time to get home to enjoy dinner with our families. At the time of filming, it was done under the fake name "Largo" so that the general public wouldn't know it was the "IT" sequel. Cassie, you never fail to entertain with all of your jump scares, and while I admit to laughing out loud at them, I won't be disappointed if you take the rest of October off and watch only rom-coms or old black-and-white films.

Bill Hader was unaware that Bill Skarsgård can actually move his eyes in two different directions. Hader asked Skarsgård what kind of editing was done to achieve the effect in the first movie. Skarsgård, in full costume and makeup, responded by saying "Oh, you mean this?" and showed him how he can do it naturally, startling Hader.

The constant quips about Bill's stories having bad endings is something King himself has often been critised of. Many critics have said that a good story was ruined by a dreadful ending and in a few film adaptations they've altered the ending. King especially preferred the alternate ending to Frank Darabont's version of 'The Mist' (well worth watching if you haven't seen it yet)

The "everyone loves your book but hates the ending" is a tongue-in-cheek friendly jab at Stephen King, who wrote the books. Yeah, it had cheeziness (kind of inevitable for a mainstream network adaption back then), but the relationship between the kids, and the later adults, was much truer to the book. It showed their closeness, their bond, their "found family"ness much better than either of these two movies. And let's face it -- this movie really threw Mike Hanlon's character under the bus. In the original TV miniseries as well as the book, he was an honorable man... he stayed behind and kept watch, he became the town librarian, because *he* was the history buff, not Ben. In this movie, he lies to and manipulates his friends, he's just kinda... sleazy. I think Cassie would enjiy the miniseries, especially since she's made it through the two movies. After all, there's only so much they could show on neteork TV back in the '80s.
