I saw this with my dad in a crowded theater at the age of 9. Absolutely loved it. Stallone and Snipes together are great. Movie still holds up. If you liked this, you should check out Cliffhanger. Another great Stallone classic. 93 was another great year for summer films. Jurassic Park, Last Action Hero, The Fugitive, Cliffhanger, The Firm, and this!

They don't really say meat is banned in the movie, but the police chief insults Stallone by calling him a 'meat eater'. If Vegans got their wish, eating meat would be illegal. Wesley Snipes played a great role in this movie and he even got to show off his martial arts skills which he practices to this day. Starting in movies with his first major role in "Major League", he would go on to star in other movies, but the one that made him an icon would be when he became the "Day Walker" in the Marvel movie version of the character, "Blade" in that trilogy from the late 90s into the early 2000s.

Cop Land always seems to be under nearly everyone's radar and its shame, as it's quite good. Stallone shows a bit more dramatic chops as he doesn't play a total muscle hero as he does here. I very highly recommend you watch First Blood. It's the first movie in the Rambo series, and it's the only one based on a book and so it's much more story driven without all of the over-the-top action. It's also some of Stallone's absolute best acting.

Yes, you should definitely check out more Stallone movies. First Blood and Rambo: First Blood Part 2 are both awesome but also quite different in tone (comparing the two.) There are three other Rambo sequels (which are a mixed bag.) Cliffhanger, Escape To Victory and Nighthawks are worth watching too.

Wesley Snipes is an exceptionally good martial artist. It's a well-known fact that the stunt coordinator and director had him slow down the movements because he was simply too fast for the regular camera to properly track his arms and legs in the fight scenes. This is one of those movies that contributed to the crush I had on Sandra Bullock. She's just too cute and charming in everything she's in. Anyway, I love this flick. It's unexpectedly hilarious. And like you said, it's very quotable. To this day I still tell people to enhance their calm. Recommendation time, you need to see First Blood (the first Rambo movie). It's another action movie that has a lot more depth than you might expect. And even though a certain aspect of the plot has aged very poorly, check out Love Potion No 9 if you want to see another early Sandra Bullock movie.

I adore this movie so much. I remember coming across my mums VHS tapes around the 2000s when i was a kid, born Dec 1999. It had an average of two movies on them so I'd start watching some wholesome movie about a boy and his dog only for the next thing movie to The Running Man 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger or this movie Demolition Man. That's how I discovered alot of these classic 1980s to 1990s action movies most of them stuff a 8 year old shouldn't be watching tbh. Total Recall, The Running Man. Demolition Man, Starship Troopers, Highlander, Predator, Aliens, Top Gun, Die Hard, Mad Max 2, Escape from New York, Lethal Weapon, Big Trouble in Little China, Beverly Hills Cop, They Live, Conan the Barbarian, pick any of these movies and you'll have a fun time. Starship Troopers may be far too violent but the others are great. Another Sly movie that's set in a dystopian future is Judge Dredd based on the Judge Dredd 2000AD British comic books series. From an art direction stand point it's amazing feels like they pulled everything straight out of the comic but the characters themselves such as Dredd aren't too faithful to the comic which naturally upset alot of comic fans. But the film does a good job at showcasing the more crazy and silly side of the 2000AD universe with it's designs and overall tone and depiction of the future. It's kind of like the Tim Burton Batman movies in this regard having a very comic book inspired city compared to the more tame Nolan Trilogy. Then you have Dredd from 2012 which is amazing, lower budget so the art direction is much more tame in compression having a more near future look instead but everything else is amazing. it's also much more faithful to Dredd as a character and showcases the more mature and darker side of the 2000AD universe. So both films go for different things, combine these two together and we'd have one hell of a Judge Dredd movie or show. So yeah I personally recommend the 2012 Dredd film overall. If the film got a sequel I could see them developing Mega City One closer to the comics to show the passage of time. Wesley Snipes is amazing in this movie if you want to see more of him i highly recommend Marvel's Blade trilogy from the first movie in 1998 to Blade: Trinity released in 2004. These pre date the MCU so like Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four they're not connected to any greater universe. Blade 1 and 2 are amazing fun and credited for kick started the whole Marvel wave of movies along with X-Men which is also credited for that. Blade: Trinity is pretty mixed i actually have never seen it but like I said I adore the first two movies.

In the European version of this movie, they didn't have Taco Bell. Taco Bell was not a thing in Europe at the time. So they replaced it with Pizza Hut. They replaced the scenes and such with the Pizza Hut logo and redubbed the lines with Pizza Hut. To this day, you can get the movie in the European version, or the American one. The TV version actually got chopped up pretty badly. They removed all references to Taco Bell, as well as the reference to Jeffrey Dahmer. The film was considered too violent, and a lot of the graphic violence of the guards dying was removed. They removed the rat-burger as well.

Wesley Snipes did an awesome job playing the villain. Just the blast he was having made it blast to watch. There's a lesser known movie titled "Chaos" from 2005, starring Wesley, along with Ryan Phillippe and Jason Statham, where Mr. Snipes also plays the bad guy. Well worth a watch.

YES! I love this movie! It was way ahead of it's time and it nailed several points about the future of technology like videocalls, self-driving cars, video conferances, handheld tablets, voice activated appliances and biometric implants. More Stallone and more Snipes, please! Stallone's "First Blood" (Rambo) is a must and if you want Marvel, look no further than Snipe's portrayal of Blade.

There is no part of that future anyone should want ... and we are about 3/4 of the way there now. Total surveillance state, every single breath you take, transaction you make from cradle to grave under total government control. Fascism disguised as "safety". Dennis Leary represents freedom. Freedom is not perfect, it comes with uncertainty and and an element of danger but it needs to be FEROCIOUSLY preserved. That being said, I LOVE this movie 😁 The writing is fantastic, the jokes stick with you and it's the first time most people ever saw Sandra Bullock (In a big feature anyway). Kind of wild to see her and Benjamin Bratt together YEARS before MISS CONGENIALITY. This movie gets better every time you watch it. Check out CLIFFHANGER for another great non-ROCKY Stallone movie. And of course FIRST BLOOD & RAMBO (first blood part II). The OTHER great American hero after ROCKY.

Another great fun-ironic Stallone movie I can recommend is "Judge Dredd" (1995) 🙃. A very underrated Stallone movie worth a watch is "Cliffhanger" (1993). As for Wesley Snipes (Simon Phoenix) the Blade trilogy is a good start.

Hi Cassie, it's great you've seen this sci fi classic and I enjoyed your reaction to it :) Sylvester Stallone has great comic timing and I highly recommend his comedy movie Oscar (1991) for you to react to for the channel. In which he plays a 1930's gangster attempting to leave his life of crime. He does comedy very well and I also highly recommend his 1989 action flick Tango & Cash - it's very similar to Lethal Weapon!

If you like Denis Leary (Edgar Friendly), there's a Christmas comedy he made with Kevin Spacey called "The Ref" about a thief who takes a bickering couple hostage on Christmas Eve. Also, I revisited your Galaxy Quest reaction and if I hadn't said it yet, I totally hope you check out the Star Trek movies. I can see you loving the 2009 reboot series (Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond) but don't discount the originals (though I think everyone's okay if you skip the first one, it's not bad but it's very different from the others)
