I totally agree, the situation is escalating and whilst my heart goes out to Bishop Strickland and Cardinal Burke, the reality of what’s happening in the Catholic Church is becoming clearer on a daily basis. The mental gymnastics of the “Popesplainers” in trying to justify Pope Francis’s increasingly erratic and vindictive behaviour is truly a sight to behold. Pray for Church and the Pope.

I live in the area where Cardinal Burke was born & make visits to the Marian shrine in his former diocese. I have always admired his courage & holiness.

@@anthonyhulse1248 Cardinals are consultants for the pope; they’re supposed to give advice. When the pope clearly is abandoning the deposit of faith, which Pope Francis is doing, then he has every right to call his attention to this. He has done nothing wrong by doing so.

l recall Pope JohnPaul’s gentleman’s behaviour towards his opponents ,and Pope Benedict’s kind handling of opposition and his holy resignation to his sad end and l weep for the loss of these great stalwarts of our Holy Church, and l read their beautiful published works which are a great consolation in these controversial times, and happenings.Pray for the Holy Catholic Church ,established by Jesus Christ,ruled by His Commandments and sanctified by His blood shed and His death on Mount Calvary.

He removes and severely punishes conservative, faithful bishops, but merely "writes a letter" to openly schismatic and heretical bishops in Germany. Pope Francis really has his priorities mixed up. I miss Pope Benedict XVI.

Sort of written a letter! Your negativity toward the Holy Father is extremely unhelpful. The Dubai has been answered in fill, they cardinals just don't like the answers. In my view referring to people as popesplainers is also unhelpful. The disunity in the Church is driven by those with an agenda who are underming the unity. Whenever I look at the lives of the saints, they never undermine their superiors: Saint Padre Pio, St Faustina, St Mary McKillop of the Cross.......I could go on. Bishop Strickland has behaved outrageously, accusing the Holy Father of heresy!!!!!

The pope’s Nov. 10 letter, which was typewritten in German and signed by hand, was addressed to the theology professors Katharina Westerhorstmann and Marianne Schlosser, the philosopher Hanna-Barbara Gerl-Falkovitz, and the journalist Dorothea Schmidt, who sent him a Nov. 6 letter outlining their reservations about developments in the Church in Germany since the synodal way formally ended in March. “This committee aims to set up a consultative and decision-making body,” Pope Francis said in the letter. “However, as outlined in the corresponding resolution, its proposed structure is not in alignment with the sacramental structure of the Catholic Church.” - it is hardly an authoritative response to the openly schismatic actions of the German bishops, is it? By saying "sort of" I am saying it is not a definitive statement on the deeply problematic German situation. I stand by that comment. If you think the term "popesplainers" is unhelpful, it may be because you don't want to hear what the Pope is really doing and prefer to here his actions explained away instead. My fidelity is to Christ and His body, the Church, from which he is inseparable. The Pope is commissioned to be the visible head of that Church and I recognise I owe him fidelity and respect, but I will not condone abuse or actions (eg Cardinal Hollerich's) which actually attack Christ's body.

The pontificate is like a South American dictatorship! No, it's a theocracy. Separating yourself from the magistrium by saying your loyalty is with Christ and the Church is to deny the truth that Christ appoints the pope, Pope Francis is the supreme pontiff, the confusion which many complain about is to a large extent driven by people like you, spouting innuendo. Not helpful at all. You know what to do with the German Bishops do you? Yes that's easy, let's sack them all and bring on another schism. Problem solved. You keep sitting in your couch, spouting and criticising, that'll fix it.

There has been abdaloutly no change to doctrine under Pope Francis. There you guys go again spouting innuendo and untruths. There is no such thing as the perfect Pontiff, JP2, not perfect, Benedict, nor perfect. Where is your charity nor to mention your assent. There is no evidence whatsoever that Pope Francis is mentally unstable. You guys carry on in your little echo chamber, I can see that's really working for you.
