But from my studies into Catholicism, they are absolutely obsessed with Mary and her "NON sex life." So I find your comment quite humorous! Ya know, it matters not to me, and probably most Protestants, how many children Mary had, or whether or not Jesus' brothers and sisters were step siblings, etc. However, you have raised her up to a Godlike status, and that is exegetically 100% implausible. White's book denies it because it is not in scripture. In fact, the Bible indicates that Mary went on to have several children with, presumably, Joseph. The concept of her being a perpetual virgin (and other ideas), showed up later in non-scriptural, man made sources. That is White's point, when you deviate from God's word, you open yourself up to all kinds of heresies. Stick with the true source, you have no problems.

Mary was the greatest woman to walk the Earth. She was blessed by God with a gift that has no parallel, no equal, to give birth to the Son of God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the God Man. No other woman can even come close to such a blessing but she was a woman and she was not sinless but at the same time she deserves the greatest admiration and respect and I feel that the Catholic Church's dogmas and doctrines have the opposite effect. They soil the image of this greatest of women by associating titles of some type of demi-godess. In fact it's as if Rome never changed, they cannot live without their pantheon. This I cannot accept in any way shape or form.

My parents are in error. They more or less have a shrine to Mary in their house. They pray the Rosary three hours a day and my dad believes Mary is co-redemtrix. I tried showing truth in the Gospel, but they will not accept. The only thing I can do now is pray that someone else will preach the Gospel to them. Its sad because my parents believe that what are they doing is right and that just makes me mad and sad for them.

Logical discussion can break some mentalities. For example- ask them this. Does it not seem odd that the current established 4 Marion dogmas are listed in The Protoevangelium of James and Pseudo-Matthew which is rejected by the Roman Catholic church? And… Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Christ affirms the pentateuch - (Law) and the Nevi'im - (Prophets) If the deuterocanonical cannon is “inspired” as scripture in accordance to the council of Trent, which category do these seven books fall into in order for Jesus to fulfill them? As far as I can tell in research there’s no law or prophetic passages in them. The law is sealed after Moses and before the prophets plus there doesn’t seem to be mention of any existing profits during the timeframe of these books. Every book after deuteronomy is classed as prophet by the Mishnah in the Talmud. If they refuse to answer, remind them of the first popes words in 1 peter 3:15 Plea’s fall on hard hearts. Questions cause people to think and defend.

In the Marian prayer it seems disingenuous to say they are not afraid of Jesus -- the prayer says no fear of the JUDGMENT of Jesus. It says in the next line that Mary points to -- or, as the gospel says, magnifies -- our Lord Jesus.

A woman has a hymen (usually broken at first sexual encounter). And once mary had a baby through the birth canal, even as a Virgin the hymen would have been broken. But according to the prov of James, a woman checked Mary with her fingers and stated that Mary’s hymen was still in tact after the birth of Jesus. They didn’t have c-section, as no women would have survived it back then, so if not through the birth canal, he would have to have beamed out. It’s all a lie and she had other kids but hope that helps.

The belief that Mary was a virgin her whole life is the most ridiculous clap I've ever heard. It stems from three equally moronic presuppositions, the first is the perversion of Genesis 4:1 to mean that sex is a result of our sinful nature because some people think that Adam and Eve didn't have children until after and as a result of their fall, and assumes they also never had sex until then also, completely ignoring Genesis 1:28 and 2:24 which came before the fall. So this leads to the sex is evil doctrine which was push heavily by the Gnostics. This next presupposition which makes even less sense is this notion that because Jesus is the only begotten of the Father then he has to be the only begotten of Mary, which perverts the meaning of "begotten" to mean the Father created the Son in a anatomical way which is heresy because Jesus is eternal just like the Father. So next they point to shady quotes from early to mid church fathers that seems to state that they also believed this so it must be a revelation of the Holy Spirit if it has lasted so long "wrong, even lies can survive the test of time and the early church father were far from prefect men". So what about Jesus' 5 siblings? well they throw poor Joseph under the cement roller of stupidity to explain this away and say he was a polygamous and had another wife or Mary was his second wife and Joseph either had a divorce or was a widower, ridiculous. Of course, Genesis 1:28 and 2:24 is the stack in the heart of this demonic doctrine and to explain it away they have a list of equally demonic methods from saying Genesis is not an accurate timeline of events, to the Genesis creation account is all just symbolism and none of it is based in reality. The fact is that the catholic church along with the early church fathers post Peter and John, hated the books of Genesis and Revelation and tried on countless occasions to remove them from the bible, especially Revelation. Interestingly enough these are the books that the Satan hates the most also, go figure.

I was debating a Roman Catholic who tried to tell me that Mary never died and was assumed into Heaven, but he wasn't expecting me to bring up a report from the Council of Chalcedon that the legend was that Mary had died surrounded by the Apostles, and after 70 AD her tomb was empty, so the Council assumed her dead body was taken to Heaven (or more likely tombs were disturbed during the destruction of Jerusalem). All he said was " Regardless...." and changed the subject. They can't stand when Church History disproves their idolatry.

Not in till the 16th century. 2. If you read what Paul says about there being only one mediator between God and man, Paul makes it abundantly clear that it is one mediator in regards to salvation. As in, Paul leaves his reasoning and therefore the text of scripture open, To the interpretation that there can be mediators for other things excluding salvation. And that's exactly what we pray to the saints for. Specifically those things excluding salvation. So you have yet to demonstrate idolatry in Catholicism. I am still waiting.

Extrapolating from one thing to another is the art of deception. A loose handling of the word of God is employed to support whatever teaching you want. I call it sloppy scholarship but churches like the Roman Religion to Jehovah's Witnesses, to Islam, to the Southern Baptist Convention all employ this method to get around "Thus saith the Lord". Do you need to get around the biblical teaching on baptism. Easy-peasey. Just spiritualize it all. I heard an Evangelical say just yesterday that when you believe in Jesus then you are baptized. Listen to the subtle deception. When you believe then you are baptized. In other words, the act of belief is what counts as baptism. Now, find anything close to that in the scriptures. You can't. Every time a person is recorded as believing the gospel, he is baptized into Christ. The people who believed the preaching of Peter on Pentecost asked, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" If Peter were a Baptist, he would have said, "Nothing. Your belief in Jesus has baptized you." That's not what happened. He told them to be baptized and so they were. The art of deception is the art of spiritualizing whatever you need to in order to force your theology on the bible. It's eisegesis all the way. You say you love Jesus and then distort what He has commanded. Sounds like true love to me.

What does that have to do with anything? Jesus said he would divide families. His sister has strayed to a false church, happens in many families. After all, there are a lot of false churches to go to. Let’s pray for her that she sees the lies of the Catholic Church and comes back to Jesus!

@@sandina2cents779 question for you: did Jesus intend to found a Church where he had given them the authority to lead after his ascension? The way you have mentioned that Jesus said there would be divisions in families seems to assert that Jesus is just fine with his Church being divided. If Jesus also had the intention to divide families, why did he pray, in the Gospel of John, “that they may all be one” before his arrest, trial, crucifixion, death, and resurrection? Is he fine with the presence of sin in peoples lives that cause families to be divided? Give those questions some prayerful consideration.

@VDMA LCMS The true church believes what the Bible teaches. Half of what Catholics believe is never taught in the Bible but man made up by the church. Christians follow Christ. Catholics follow their church and the pope. We could go over all their made up beliefs if you’d like. The Catholic Church lied to you. When I prove their beliefs are not in the Bible, Catholics always say the same thing, “the church said so”. Which proves they follow man, not Jesus.

@VDMA LCMS The text says that they did not consummate their marriage until Jesus was born. If I said I didn’t have dessert until I ate my dinner, does that mean I had dessert? Yes!!!! When Jesus said he came to divide families it wasn’t that he was dividing the church, families would be divided because some would choose him and some would choose false religion and be lost. Those who follow scripture, the only God breathed teachings are his church. The ones that choose false religions and man-made doctrine‘s that add to the Bible and twist scripture or not the church and will be lost.
