CB Installation 2007 FJ Cruiser Part 5

Hey Poppa! I started my SmittyBilt install last night of an M1 bumper and Winch. Question (thought this would be a good place to ask this question b/c it's electrical). Regarding fog light wiring: Is it easier to access the wiring for the push button panel through removal of the radio console or by removing the console??

theflyfishnut The M1 is a nice clean bumper. I like the look of it because keeps within the lines of whatever you install it on. I would remove the radio as it is very easy to do. You should be able to reach down to the blanks. If not just remove the heater control panel too. A couple of screws and unplug the wiring and then you have complete access. I took it all out to make things easy. Hope that helps!

Poppa- I installed the bumper and winch and cannot get the control box mounted. Are you on FJCRUISER forum? I put a post under 4 x 4 tech. I think maybe Smitty Sent me the wrong brackets? (This should be the easy part). If you have a minute, can you check it out and see if I'm having a brain fart?

theflyfishnut Does that silver bracket somehow mount into channels on the crossbars? The first thing that came to mind was that you may have to remove one crossbar, flip the bracket over so that the curved end is toward the front and facing downward and the flat side is facing upward. The box would sit on top. Thinking you have to mount the bracket to the box first, and remove or loosen a crossbar and hook the the bracket in between? Not exactly sure if it works that way but that is sort of the way mine worked.
