Oval VS Cup Shape Popping Corks Experiment: Does the shape matter?
With a storm brewing, I thought it would be a good idea to get out and test an oval-popping cork vs a cup-shape.
Does one prove to be better than the other? What do the fish prefer - if at all?

Overall, I found A LOT of fish on this trip.
The two popping corks performed well and did exactly what they were supposed to do.

The type of popping cork that's better depends on the conditions. If it's calm and quiet you want a skinny cigar shaped float. If it's a little windy or rough use the bigger round ones. And if it's rough use the popper kind. In calm water the louder ones can scare the fish. That's how I was taught to pick the right popping corks.

Nice fishing, sir. And I love your matching gloves and scarf. Under what conditions do you normally use a popping cork as opposed to just the shrimp on a jig? Is it just the depth you consider, water temps, time of year. I also wonder why you bait that shrimp to the jig in the manner you chose? I recently viewed a Salt Strong video that suggested breaking off the tail and running the jig up through the abdominal segments. Peace.
