Example: Me, mom, sister and her girlfriend (all adults) arrive at the gas station to rent a trailor. As we are lining it up to the car and are about to attach it, a man comes over with a smile and starts doing it for us. He doesn't work there, he's just filling up his tank and found 4 poor women he had to help. Since hooking up a trailor is the easiest task in the world he has done it before we even have the chance to say no thank you. Mansplaining is the assumption so many men have that a woman doesn't know anything about a specific subject. They will start explaining something the woman never asked a question about. It is particularly infuriating when they mansplain about a subject the woman is an expert in or even challenge her knowledge. Here is a great example that really happened - an article was written about this. A woman wrote a book on a subject that she was an expert in. She and two other women happened to be visiting an old male professor and they were all talking about the subject. The professor kept on saying that they needed to read a certain book on the subject. It was the very book the woman had written. The women tried several times to tell him that she had written the book he was insisting they read. He just ignored them and kept on talking about the book. Their words didn't register with him. At the end of the conversation, he referenced the book she wrote one more time. For the last time, the women pointed at their friend and said SHE wrote the book! It finally got though and he just sat there blinking.

#1-Now that Merri has Revealed how Kody gave her lists of things she had to do to win him back, it is obvious that Robyn never met Merri accidentally. Kody directed It and gave Merri the script he and Robyn wrote. Same thing with the divorce. That, I feel was major reason for Merri's breakdown & set her up for catfishing. He and Robyn made a fool of her including on TV as she stuck to the script. Thise two destroyed that woman whom I believe clung to Robyn not knowing she was ploting with Kody. Merri felt that Robyn truly liked her and that friendship with her would draw Kody back in. Anyone watching Robyn and Kody's interactions in early season before their first marriage saw a full blown intimate affair happening whenever he traveled to visit her.

The reason Kody now thinks the religion was a cult and is so distrusting of religions in general is because it’s one more thing to blame, one more scapegoat he can blame for his own bad behaviour. He thinks it wasn’t his fault that his marriages failed, his ex wives were to blame. Now the religions is also to blame. Everybody and everything else is wrong, except Kody. The AUB said he abandoned Meri, so now, he’s fine referring to them as a cult. He can not take any responsibility. Someone that went to school with them said they're nothing like what they portray themselves to be on the show, that they're mean girls that think they're better than the other Brown children, and they're always badmouthing them and their mothers. I believe it, look how snotty they were when they were in Janelle's trailer, making fun of it like they were too good to live in a place like that. Brianna ignores Savannah at school and acts like she doesn't know who she is, even though they're step-siblings. With Robyn as their mom, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I think that Kody is very aware about what online forums and channels are saying about him. This episode proves it to me bc of his self-awareness by calling it culty. I also think that he’s so self-absorbed and vain that that most of his reasons are all about how things affect only him and not so much for others, especially former wives. It’s a start though I guess, he sees how his former religion helped stain relationships with his daughters. If only he can find more awareness to stop being a jerk to his exes and give them all their equal money after all of the bs he is still putting them through. 7:18 Rewatching from the beginning I find it eye opening and sad. The girls, particularly Breanna, were outgoing, loud, always laughing but now they’re just shadows of themselves. They look and behave traumatised. Makes me very sad for them. Also fun seeing all the lies they’ve said previously with the gift of hindsight, particularly Meri saying it was never an affair but knowing that soon enough the tapes of her voicemails would be released. There is this one part of the story I’m not hearing anyone discuss this season and I have to share my theory because I feel like I’m going crazy here: so, after Robyn’s 20 year olds had that talk w their Mom about going to a church, the whole fandom was like “why is this necessary,” but my thoughts went straight to how manipulators think. Kody was just shamed by the AUB by Merri getting her annulment and their advice to Kody following their ruling basically said that if Christine comes to them she will be released as well. Rather than work through that shame or face that authority, Kody spiraled into a crisis of faith and left the church. Like man child. Now he is using Robyn and these girls as the reason he becomes a Christian monogamist by the end of this. It’s so obvious for me he is doing it for the plot and where this plot is going. I just had to tell people I trusted before it ate me alive.

Love your channel! For clarification, it's written in their book that he and Robyn first saw each other at church. (I think maybe they have mentioned it before on the show, also) She mentions the lightning bolt (in the book) and then I believe they do write about the whole lawn/cousin thing..... later that night or at some point shortly thereafter they all ended up at some church function where Meri told Kody to ask Robyn to dance. The whole Kody/Robyn thing was going to happen whether Meri was involved or not, but for the sake of the show and the validity of the other marriages/polygamy, I believe they played up her (Meri's) role in the whole thing. I think both of you are forgetting that in the early seasons it was Meri who was crying all the time. She cried over getting a wet bar she cried over the seating at her child's high school graduation. Kody was sick of it because she was ALWAYS sobbing. It had worked on Kody at one time and after a while she realized it wasn't working any more, especially after Robyn figured out that crying was the way to get what she wanted from him.

Why does she always look worried/sad... because she is married to the king/knight. She is the damsel in distress and gains favor/deferrs to him on every single subject. Because she has seen what happens when you stand up and assert yourself to him. I think in the first season... some of her worries/sadness was real. But then I think she saw how protective he felt over her... and she makes herself "safe" by making herself invalid to him. This extends to the daughters. Same story. It's also a circular pattern because he lourdes power/control in this way... they do it to each other. And she paints herself into a corner this way. Her world is smaller and smaller every day.
