@@NATEYWEB I get it because the first half is more pop based sound so it's easy to digest, but her experimental stuff is bomb. I loved that she experimented with metal and combined with sunshine pop, it's an odd combination that works with Poppy in my opinion. I hope the next album which she said she's already working on it is more metal/rock pop based like BABYMETAL.

Poppy was saying she was heading down the X/Play Destroy path on the new album she's working on. Don't be surprised if you find a collaboration with her pal Marilyn Manson on it too. I think this is a more natural route for her. Her dad was a drummer in a punk band and her earlier music influences were Blondie, No Doubt and Cindi Lauper. Besides her obvious love of fashion the Secret Poppy is also an avid skateboarder. She was also a mascot for a roller derby team when she was little. Those are things that have molded her personality and musical taste. So you hit the nail on the head with the first album comparison. That was a good honest review. Thanks.

I feel like I finally found someone who can appreciate Poppy as much as me. You should see more about her history, for me Poppy is a Parody of pop culture, and she talks about this in many of her videos, fame, money, pop. She's planning something, I guess she's waiting to reach the climb to explode as an artist in its 100%. This is all planned!! This was meant to be a parody of pop, and she did GREAT. from the album, i like the rupture ball the most, i love the dramatic vibes, reminds me of the most recent work from HURTS, and, as a non-binary listener, I can feel Am I a Girl in my heart. X and Play Destroy are basically babymetal, which is okay. About the pop side of the album, these are on repeat since halloween. It's just sad that Immature Couture didn't make it to the album, it's my favorite song from this era.

I LOVE Immature Couture! It was a kind of consolation gift to her fans because the tour was postponed for like 3 months. I'm not sure she'd have retained her fanbase so strongly if that song wasn't as great as it is!

Um, Bubblebath is Poppy's first album. Poppy is an OBJECT. .. a deliberately created character...... the social commentary presented in the poppy project is meant to make obvious the "programmed pop stars" who are embroiled in the lucifarien agenda that we see in the MAINSTREAM every day . top 40 artists show blatant devil worship in their videos and concerts. money worship is symbolic of devil worship as an example. the poppy project is meant as sarcastic humor poking at the mainstream. To be considered as True Art, the Art(ist) must PROVOKE and elicit both positive as well as negative responses. If "everybody loves it" or "everybody hates it" it is not Art. . .Example the premier mainstream Artist/Muse Marina Abramović. Her work is of an earlier era, when people HAD to communicate face to face. The performance art she and Ulay did in the early years was BRUTAL to say the least. The interwebs and internets have become the new communication. Titanic and Poppy are also telling a brutal story, using Poppy's Kawaii visual aesthetic, Titanic's Warhol-esque directing style inserting intentional symbolism with a David Lynche/Angelo Badalamenti inspired sound, ... designed to unnerved.
