I just took my permit test last week and passed with only 2 mistakes. A word of advice I have for others in california taking the test is you have to read the book, no way around it. I failed the first 2 times because I just did practice tests, but after I read the book once fully and did practice tests, I passed! A lot of the test is specific info like fines or jail time, so reading the handbook is essential. I also found that reading the book over the course of a couple weeks and really understanding all the concepts was much easier and more useful than just mindlessly cramming. If you are reading this you are probably studying to take the test. I passed the test today after failing 2 times. The most important thing is to read the book. They ask a lot of questions that are not in your practice tests or the one you are watching rn. You have to stay calm and read the questions carefully, sometimes they give you answers like "slow down" and "stop and then proceed with caution" and the answer is the one you were not expecting. I had to do 46 questions and I got 6 wrong luckily. If I can do it so can you, believe in yourself.

Passed with a 90 , only took PRACTICE tests. Google " most frequently missed questions*. Blv me if you take different pract tests for a few days straight bfr appt you'll retain that info in your head. After 2 fails I finally got my license! It's pretty easy for the evaluator to fail you for simple mistakes so keep your head up if it happens. Failure doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad driver. Keep practicing and go at it again. You're bound to get someone who believes in you. But for me I took a step further by contacting a private license and professional dmv agent that helped me to write a provisional letter to bypass the test drive and i was given a provisional driver's license which will last for 12 months. I got a license now and it will serve for 1 year then I renew again. My little advice. * If you think are too nervous for the test drive then you can easily switch to a provisional driver's license which you won't need to test drive.

I'm gonna be 24 and still don't have my license because my family always keeps me inside the house. Luckily I applied for jobs to find my way out of this cage. They only taught me to drive i neighborhoods and shame me for not getting a license like my younger cousin who's mom is less strict. Just took the permit test and passed the first time, only missed two. Your videos really helped. They let you skip 3 and I was surprised that the permit test was 40 questions for someone over 21. To anyone getting ready to take the test, a bit of advice..read the questions/answers carefully. Really carefully, forensically carefully. Also, process of elimination really helps. You won’t pass without the book (I know, it’s so dry). Read it cover to cover and then another three times. Watch the videos here and take the practice tests.

This is a good test to practice just remember that in the actual test the questions are completely randomized so practice on multiple videos. Am 18 so the test had 36 questions but if you’re 17 and under your test will be 46 questions and you can only get 6 (over 18) wrong and 8 (under 17) wrong, and if you fail the test you can take it again right away up to 3 times. If you fail and you’re 17 and under you will have to wait to take it again not sure how long. And just make sure you understand the questions because they might be reworded.And make sure you go over the drivers hand book and if you’re to lazy to read just search up california drivers handbook audio and sit back, relax and listen. And there are no tricky questions. Also if you get a question wrong it tell’s you immediately.

Passed test today was in and out in 45 minutes thanx Liz and Drivers Ed DDS and Concord DMV. One question skipped it was points on your driver's record. CA Driver's Handbook page 55 & 56 heading Point's on Your Driver's Record. 4 points in 12 months; 6 points in 24 months; 8 points in 36 months they may suspend your driver's license.

I am a senior. Just renewed CA DMV license by taking online virtual training course instead of written exam. Just watched video and answer a few quiz questions. It took less than an hour. I didn't need to study. They also offered an online proctored exam while somebody watches you take the exam on your webcam.

Rumor has it a company was hired to make the test more difficult. Whoever made these questions are sometimes lacking knowledge or intentionally looking to fail testers to justify their mandate. 9:07 Answer A is not always practical. Answer C is appropriate for some vehicles. Actually all three should be done if possible. Question should be something like: After checking physically behind the vehicle should you do at least all of these things if possible as you back up? 10:22 Should be "drive between 5 a.m. and 11:00 p.m." as per video section at 11:06 and the DMV driver's manual. Not 5 to 5 as the "correct" answer A. The the only time the numbers 11 & 5 are used are in an incorrect answer. Obviously to draw the tester that way. Another trick question. The tester sees in the question "6 year old unattended" Which a tester knows is not allowed so they look at choice B "if the child is with a 12 year old." Knowing this is the age the DMV handbook requires they are drawn to that answer. Which apparently is what the person who designed this test wants. This is not a diver's examination for driving fitness in California, it's a comprehension test! "Tipping people up like never before!" as in the preamble above.

Normally one would turn right to the Curb line what if that line for any reason was blocked or closed? one should not turn right.?

Hello, if you are making a right turn, then you want to turn into the lane closest to the curb that is open and available. So if the lane closest to the curb is blocked (maybe parked cars, for example), then you would turn into the next open lane that is closest to the curb. Hope that helps!

Question 12: İf you are driving a panel van or kind of truck nothing reasonable to look over shoulders..So side mirrors are the only way to see around. question and the answer is confict to me

You make a fair point regarding panel vans and trucks with no rear window, and those types of vehicles usually have more advanced mirrors to help the driver see better around their vehicle and blind spots. However, we would still recommend checking over your right and left shoulders in addition to using your mirrors, which will give you the most amount of information about what's around and behind your vehicle. For example, checking over your shoulder might alert you to a potential approaching hazard that is further away and not yet visible in any of your mirrors. Thanks for sharing!

On question 11, on my practice test, I got “it is illegal to leave a child six years of age or younger unattended in a vehicle on a hot day”: and when I clicked on “when the keys are in the ignition", it says its wrong. And I got "Even if they are secured in a child passenger restraint system.

Hello, thank you for sharing that! That makes sense, because it is illegal to leave a child in a hot vehicle. So "even if they are secured in a child passenger restraint system", it would still be illegal. Here's what the DMV Handbook says: Unattended Children and Pets: It is illegal to leave a child who is six years old or younger unattended in a vehicle. A child may be left under the supervision of a person who is at least 12 years old. *It is dangerous and illegal to leave children or animals in a hot vehicle.* The temperature inside a parked vehicle can rise rapidly when it is sitting in the sun. This is true even if a window is left slightly open. Too much exposure to heat can lead to dehydration, heat stroke, and death. Update: Your boy got his license 🥹 I was nervous but once I started driving all the nerves went away and focused on driving. It was so easy I was stressing for no reason 😂

I took the writing test today. I one time failed, but passed second time. It was little difficult. My application is AB60. DMV will check the my passport copy and preef of residency copy. I must waiting two months.

@@DriversEdDirect I called DMV last friday. AB60 is need inteview with DMV Investative Service and Support Unit.I had interview on October 2018 and my permit was expired on November 2019.They said "You don't need interview again".also finally my permit coming this month.

You can do it, just give it your best!! Definitely read the DMV handbook, or as much of it as you can before tomorrow. Other than that, do a bunch of practice tests if you have time, and then use as much common sense as you can, along with what you have learned. Let us know how it goes, best of luck to you!
