Not only Toni but also Kohei Hirokoshi who failed twice before he was selfish with My Hero Academia or Eiichiro Oda who stated many times that he writes a story that he himself would have enjoyed as a kid.

Of course this is kind of a wild question but I’m going to ask it anyway. What’s the best way to start practicing getting into the field of manga as someone who doesn’t have much experience drawing? I’ve been writing since I was five and I’d like to at least teach myself the fundamentals of drawing characters, backgrounds, etc. but I’ve always been discouraged. As my first novel finishes and my short stories start to increase, I’d like to start drawing more. Hell even learning how to draw in the first place. Your channel has always been a very helpful resource in being able to do these things. Very passionate about the form and I’d love to start from Step 0 even.

I remember Radiant being a somewhat bland but okay series. Although I haven't looked at it for a couple years now so I don't know if the early writing improved. I just remember something about Mages bieng disciminated against but it was done in like ... the blandest and most heavy handed way possible. And also made little sense given they lived in fear of monsters and yet actively attacked the ones most capable of fighting them. Like I'd get if they were just heavily ungrateful and didn't accept them ... but they would actively try to get rid of them despite relying on them to stay alive. It was a sloppy executing that focused on using tropes without fully applying them to actual human behavior. But even with all that said I remember it being a passable series. I do remember the art being pretty good so the mangaka definitely has talent. They just needed to refine their ideas a bit more to be more engaging ... which again they might have already done. I put it on Hiatus a while back and haven't thought about it for ages. Might actually be about time to look into it again. To anyone still reading this how was the anime? Is it worth watching the anime and then switching to manga or better to just dive into the manga from the start?
