Honestly, both songs using this hook are great. This musical performance is excellent (wish I could see it live) and the hook ("popular.... I know about pop-yehw-ler") is worth a million bucks, no wonder Mika borrowed it. I think he did it justice as a pop song, though... so everybody wins.

Yes, they have both made appearances on Glee. Kristin was April Rhodes the old/drunk student that Will brought on when the Glee club needed more members. Idina played the Vocal Adrenaline coach then came back to reveal herself as Rachel's mother. Then she stayed on for several episodes since she adopted Puck and Quinn's child

It's so odd because this was before they made the show legendary. If these two went out there and did this tomorrow, the lines would be down the street to see them. Kristin has been around theater & TV for a long time. Both have been apart of the Disney family. They are far from new performers. Kristin played Marion in the remake of Music Man. She won a Tony for "You a good man Charlie Brown". She won an Emmy for Pushing Daisy's. There are more, also list of various nominations going back to 2005.

Before going insane near the tail end of her life (blaming Glinda & Dorothy for losing both Nessa & the Ruby Slippers), she & Glinda were BFFs. Still, despite the song title, there were people who mourned Elphie being gone, Glinda among them.
