ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: oxford-union.org/supportus

False argument -- she's using the phrase "immigration," and not "illegal immigration." Few Americans are upset at legal immigration, except for the excesses of the H1B Visa program which harms young STEM graduates looking for work. No, they are angry at the massive, unending flow of ILLEGAL immigrants from developing countries globally flooding across the border, about 3 MILLION people per year. This is being done against the will of the super majority of Americans. 70% oppose it, and it's rated the number one concern of Americans overall, higher even than the economy. It is this massive, unending illegal immigration created and enacted by the Biden Admin which is making Americans angry.

Religious differences and changing demographics destroyed Lebanon. A society so divided was never going to work, and with a massive influx of Palestinians, the demographics changed, and islam became the majority religion. How anyone can talk about Lebanon without talking about religion hasn't a single clue.

Does she really consider cable news channels reputable news channels? She needs to look into who gives them their talking points on a daily basis. All we have for truth in news is the independent journalists now that are growing, they do investigations and report on it. You can trun on any cable channel and hear the same mockingbird speak, they are told by their puppet masters what to say and stick to script or get fired. .

Her definition of populism falls down, when the examples she refers to (Trump, Modi) are typical critisism of conservative/sosial right politics and are not balanced, or examples of issues that have been made much clearer after the fact (Trumps criticism of "main stream media". Unless you've lived under a rock these last few years, there have been plenty of leaks showing that Trump where right in a lot of the critisism he had). That is not to say that there are plenty of other populist strategies Trump and Modi uses... but for fairness, she could balance it with also talking about the populist strategies that leftist use, such as Bernie Sanders or any of the socalled "green" parties that uses climate fear and easy solutions...

US Senators and Representatives swear an oath to uphold the Constitution not simply democracy. The US Constitution codifies the rights of the individual above the tyranny of a majority or populism. The US House of Representatives is populism constrained by the Constitution. In the US, division is sowed by disparate interpretations of these Constitutional rights especially as they relate to state right sovereignty. After all, the US is 50 sovereign states united through a single Constitution.

As an engineer, I've found that there usually is a simple solution to most complex problems. The difficulty is that finding that solution is often anything but simple. For those who have spent anytime trying to figure out a simple solution to a chess puzzle can attest, finding the simple solution is often much harder than finding a complex solution to the same problem. The problem with complex solutions is that they have more points of failure than a simple solution.

Good speech beautifull lady... Populism looks awesome because its liberalis... How to achieve good interest or income in max... But it hears negative too because it never say "how the way to achieve those? " Mad or good, who knows... Better is the privilege mandates... There " Look how origin conservative said " We walk together with what we have been believed. I mean religion in vertical and horizontal approaches, blessings and deeds coming... Populism is good too, look labour there, how they working hard for the country or kingdom or empire more... There America, they choose republic and Democrate, all said " From the people to the people nor to God Allah... Founding fathers there, "perhaps" Beside God Allah, perhaps i said... In the Kingdom or empire countries looks awesome more because they elect "God's leaders" you know, i mean, someone who crown as a good icon to be followed, to be adore, to be salute... Because he or she speaks with the God's words... Democracy, like Indonesia or perhaps America or ukraine or radical waves hamas there, many and more do not believe the kindness that hide behind them... Because they forget God, faith missing... Because we are many, speak in whole... But worse... Salutation for conservative because they believe... Not only human but its Creator too... Populism is good too but better privilege mandates... Democracy is good too but looks the object nor subject, support subject but still looks privilege mandates behind it... Indonesia is dead because democracy with good mandates because they are many and dead all, nor mandates... Without faith, nothing... Blessings and deeds missing... Very sad indeed... Amerika looks like too perhaps, because we are many then forget God Allah... Looks British or saudi Arabia, Christianity and Islam have mandates, follow God Allah, vertical and horizontal accepted... God'Will... There are other world after this... Written... 🌐🇬🇧❤
