Porcupine Tree, the only band I know which can surprise me even after 8 years of inactivity.

I miss these old school, grounded and mellow, acoustic heavy songs by Steven. They have a different charm and almost innocence to them

I'm not crying, it's only that there are a few Porcupine's thorns in my eyes...

Wow is an understatement !!!! I have never heard a band that has so many albums that each one is amazing, I'm heard them for the first time, 5 years ago, I went on 2 concerts... each one of PT is a genius!!, and together they create the most amazing songs I have ever listen to... even this song ( a bonus track) is a work of art!!! I admire each one of the members.. and I hope I could create music so beautiful... תודה לכם!!!!!

Apparently Steven wanted to call this song 'Lego Headed Tennis Player', but after much deliberation, decided on 'Novak' instead.

Theres so much great stuff by this band which they still haven't officially released on CD yet. Their B sides are better than some bands best songs!
@bobby66666615 жыл бұрын
Already released on 7" single as b side to "Shesmovedon" in 2000 and bonus mail order CD with reissue of "Lightbulb Sun" (coupled with 14+ minute instrumental backing track of "Buying New Soul"). Both now deleted.

As this band expand and evolve, it is hard to keep up with their movements, as they are very gifted individuals..such is the expansion of progressive rock...fantastic

I absolutely love this song.

Sounds a lot like an expansion of the material from Deadwing. This is something I could expect to hear as a hidden or bonus track from that disc. Very nice. =)

it seems that before going into recording a full studio album, they discard many beauties like this gem right here. no wonder their actual official albums are masterpieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starting to feel like there's just as much unreleased PT material as there is released PT material.
@Nemesis74752 жыл бұрын
Definitely, especially if you count songs that didn’t make albums (like the stuff on Recordings for example). This I believe is on the Shesmovedon single so technically it’s released, but not on an album. A really good unreleased song I heard by them is “Watching You Sleep” from the In Absentia sessions. It’s so unreleased that it only exists in Demo form, but even then it sounds great!

They gotta re-record and mix this song, sounds like it'd be amazing if it was mixed a little better - by that i'm basically saying let that bass line stand out more.

Pity it's impossible to get (unless you have a record player, which I don't, or buy it on-line, which isn't worth it. I want to hold it in my hands).

@WillyTheHurricane I'd say their concerts are even better than their records! Coz good bands are always better live... [I've got 18 PT-CDs. =]

What's that 2nd chord?
@pkmega24593 жыл бұрын
I think the verse is a Dmaj7 and a Cadd9. The chorus must be a F#, Lifting up the index finger, that it changes to an E and after that playing an Cadd9.
