Wow! Made this tonight with help of a 16 who kept eating the veg whilst preparing it supposedly. Oh my days tasted lovely . Me and eldest he’s 18 gave it a 10/10 16 yr old 8.5 and hubby a 9 . A definite keeper Thankyou. Made the beef cobbler also , which I used to have growing up, liked this also but this is favourite. New subscriber, thanks again .

Not only are you a lefty like me ( which is good to watch btw) but I love your ingredient list: " A lot of this" and "Some of this" my kind of cooking, you remind me of Julia Child, what a great cook she was. Thanks Keef. Awesome.

If that type of egg noodles is unavailable, a thin pasta noodle like angel hair, thin spaghetti or thin linguine is a good substitute. Cook according to package instructions, then drain and rinse because the excess starch will make the chow mein gooey. I learned that the hard way :(

Keef, that looks wonderful! So fresh and crunchy and tasty. Yum yum! I might have to get a wok. That said, I have electric burners on my stove and I'm not sure they would get a wok hot enough. Hm. I could always try in a big frying pan and see how it goes. Great video! Loved the dramatic slow-mo.

Mange tout are sugar snap peas or snow peas in the USA I miss eating them as a veggie on my plate. Lovely pork chow mien or here lo mien wher I live 🤷♀️ Either way delish 👍🏼😘🥰
@Keefcooks Жыл бұрын
Here in sunny England sugar snaps are different - mangetout are really flat, sugar snaps are more rounded with actual tiny peas inside. Not sure where snow peas fits into it.
@brendarigdonsbrensden.8350 Жыл бұрын
@@Keefcooks me too keef but Americans have there love of regional veggies. Sugar peas are fatter, snow peas are flat but can be stringy if picked late. I love them both 🥰😘

After deboning the chops, if you freeze them for a bit till just firm, getting uniform slices are easier, though it really isn't necessary. Some stir fries like beef benefit though. Cheers!

Yum that looks fandabbysdozy Keef, 😎Deffo having a try at this recipe as since watching your videos I've stocked up on lots of the stuff in your vids 🙂, In fact I've just been sowing seeds of almost all those fresh ingredients in the greenhouse this morning. Thank you Sir.

Chow Mein translates to "beggar man's bowl". So Keef throws almost every item he could find in the grocery store into his version 😂
@Leathersladekitchen Жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t, it means fried noodles 🤷♂️
@rickbear7249 Жыл бұрын
@Whatsjamescookingtoday 😂 "beggar man's bowl" is the traditional translation of Chow Mein. No idea if it's correct or not, as my intention was to cheek young Keef for making a luxury version of a poor man's bowl. Seemingly, traditionally (in China) it most often doesn't have meat 😉. Looks good anyway. Keef always serves up a feast.
@Leathersladekitchen Жыл бұрын
@@rickbear7249 - clearly you’re one of those who can’t accept they’re wrong, even when they are… Poor mans bowl = Qióngrén wǎn or 穷人碗 in mandarin, Fried noodles = Chǎomiàn or 炒面
Mangetout - French for 'eat all'. They're similar to sugar snaps but not identical.

Yes but bowls make it hard to see the food in the video and it's not like this is a dish swimming in lots of liquid.

Sorry Keef, but you pronounced Haslet correctly, but not the mushrooms. They are pronounced shit-are key, also if the ginger is juicy it is fresh, and at its best, almost drips when taken out of the soil.
