INGREDIENTS
2 lbs pork short ribs
Enough water to parboil pork, then drain
10-12 cups water
2 bunches baby bok choy, washed
2 cups long string bean, cut into 2 inch pieces
1 handful sweet chili peppers
1 cup chopped taro (gabi)
2 roma tomatoes, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 pack of tamarind soup mix
2 tbsp fish sauce
OTHER VEGGIE OPTIONS: Eggplant, okra, water spinach, and daikon.

I ate a simple version of sinigang with just water and tamarind soup mix...!!! It was very good and super salty so i may just accompany it with just shrimp and chili peppers

Almost how I do mine. Cept I brown meat after cooking off scum. I use jalapeños, like it spicy.

I love the trend of Filipino restaurants making the foods they grew up with have a gourmet or fancy appearance. The Philippines has got the flavors down, but the appearance of some foods can be intimidating to those who haven’t tried it😅 *looking at u balut

Use kangkong instead of bakchoy. That is the original sinigang na baboy.

The joy of sinigang is that you can add really any veggie to it! And as a lover of garlic, absolutely you can add it! You can even add eggplant 😋

You can use any veggies you want.

Never simmer the veggies that long. At least 2 minutes max only.

But that's the whole point. We do this so the tomatoes disintegrate and flavor the soup.

Gurl win you use Taro or Gabi make sure to put it longer coz if not you'll be eating raw Taro.

Nope. Saute the onions, garlic, and tomatoes first then add the cooked meat. Season with fish sauce and W sauce. Add the broth. Add individual veggies according to longest cooking time first.

Nope. Starting a comment with 'Nope' is so arrogant, especially when you're commenting about a recipe that's been modified within each Filipino household, and is still open to modification. And bringing Worcestershire sauce into this 'corrected' version? Git outta here.

How about NOT doing the easy way by putting the sinigang mix. How about the NATURAL flavor way of cooking sinigang without the sinigang mix.
