Are women really also falling victim to this overly pornagraphic society? I have almost never met a woman who even admits to masterbation let alone one who admits they might look at porn,, I myself am abstinent and don’t ever masterbate or look at pornography and anytime a woman I’m meeting finds that out; almost always their immediate response is “yeah same I’ve never masterbated or looked at pornography in my whole life either!” Like obviously that’s not true women should be less judgmental so women who do have a problem feel ok to talk about it without being shamed and alienated

Oof. I went to a small Christian college and struggled with something similar. There was a help group that came out that same year but was for men only and no intention to make a women's group, so it was highly alienating.

I started that addiction at 11 years old💔 cause of previous SA traumas from veryyy young ages. the shame has only grown the older I've gotten. I've had great times where it wasn't an issue...usually when I'm in a loving relationship; that trauma urge doesn't come up anymore. when I'm left alone with myself, that urge comes up and I never truly enjoy it. yeah I get "horny" but only down there. where as when I'm ACTUALLY turned on, it's full body, mind, and soul🤣 two very different experiences lol. I'm learning to release shame and take back ownership of my body through EMDR trauma therapy!!! That's been a HUGE help, yet it still comes up every once in awhile. I'm so glad I'm not alone as a woman in this. but I feel for us all😭❤️ it effects us just as much as men...but I do think it messes w women's self-image and usually makes sex seem like something done to a woman, not something mutual. it's made me absolutely terrified of men and I heavily shamed myself ugh. I was TOO YOUNG to be going through any of that. I had no idea that's what my body was doing to cope with my traumas🥺 I was programmed (unconsentually) to associate that anxiety/shame/heartbreak with sex. when triggered, that's where my mind wants to go and I hate it but I'm learning to self empathize with my inner child. she never had the option to choose, nor the knowledge to understand

Im a guy who is addicted to porn. Ive manage to go on long streaks without it many times but whenever i manage to start a relationship with someone, i feel like ive got something to hide and i stuggle to be completely genuine and it eventually causes the relationship to fail and then i fall back into porn again. Been through this cycle too many times now. Now i really want to find a girl who is also addicted to porn so we can be open with eachother about our struggles, understand eachother, and help eachother fight our addiction. But i dont know how im supposed to find a girl who is, and too afraid to open up about it to someone, out of fear of them not understanding and be humiliated.

It’s wrong. You don’t know what some of those actors (men and women) are being forced to do when the camera isn’t rolling just so you can get off. It’s a breeding ground for sex trafficking. It’s also doing a number on your dopamine levels and ruining relationships. It’s like a drug and clearly your addiction is showing.
