First day at the Ljungbyhed track in May with the new 718 GT4 getting to know the car and trying to catch my friends :-) Impressive how a stock GT4 from the factory without any track wheel alignment can reasonably keep up with its older brothers. The GT4 PDK isn’t a bad trackday tool! Stay tuned for more report on the development of the GT4!

Looks like the GT4 held its own in the corners , only giving way on the straights to the GT3 RS

Definitely so, especially at a more technical track but on once you build speed also in the corners on a fast track the GT3´s will be very difficult to follow unless the are driven buy a less experienced driver :-)

You mean compared to the 991 GT3 RS?

Two different cars really, both from a financial point and also when it comes to maximum performance. A new 718 GT4 PDK is approx. 50% of off the price of a 991.2 GT3 RS. The GT4 is definitely behind the GT3 RS in lap times if both car a driven by professional drivers. My point is that this is very rearly the case and when two amateurs drive the both cars, in many cases a well driven GT4 can keep up reasonable well and perhaps also be just as quick as a GT3 on certain tracks. As for Driver emotions and engagement the GT3/GT3 RS is also at a higher level. But overall, and seen in the light of what you get for your money, the GT4 is a very impressive trackday car. After all, if you don't compare the GT4 with a GT3 or GT3 RS, you probably won't find a more competent trackday car :-)

@@cayman9815 The car is very convenient and comfortable overall. Seating comfort, drivability (especially with PDK) and luggage is all great. Only two things to consider if used as a daily, ride hight in the front with the front spoiler and noise from rear tyres. But then again I have a 964 as a daily so I am quite easy :-) I have never tested the GTS which is not an option for the way I like to use my 718, ie mainly on the track.

Great video! Is their any exhaust mods? Does it have the OPF on the cars?

What do you think about Manual or PDK for mainly road car?

Hi, I think its a very individual choice. I have had two 992 as daily drivers both with PDK and both with the Carrera 385 hp engine, one coupe and one Targa. Loved them both and would not have chosen a manual. On the other hand, I also drive, since many years, 964´s as daily drivers and I just love the the manual gearboxes. I think it is a matter of what mindset you are in. In any case you won't go wrong with either manual or PDK and you can always have the other one next time you change :-)
