Nice, im using the same muffler but a different resonator. I definitely love the borla compared to my old setup(it was ear bleeding loud) the borla sounds so much better and gives it deeper tone 👍

Absolutely, my previous set up has me embarrassed to drive by crouds of people 😂

@TheMileHighMechanic exactly, my wife and I drove the car almost a 1200 mile road trip to 944camp(tail of the dragon) and we were screaming to talk to each other the whole way. I was like I'm switching this thing out as soon as I get home. I originally had a single baffle muffler, it might as well been straight piped 🤦

Yeah, I have no clue what was on the car before, but I don't think it actually did anything in my case besides make it sound like a clapped out civic😂

Hey thanks for sharing this....and congrats on the car...sounds really really good now :) If I wind up getting a 944 like I plan to within a few months, I'll probably do this same mod. Might be picking up an '88 944 NA.

I highly recommend it! It makes owning this car so much better... honestly before I did this, I was kind of embarrassed about how the car sounded...I loved everything else about it, but for it to sound like a clapped out civic really didn't sit right with me...the resonator+xr1 combo is a very nice change. Also good luck with your 944 search!

That sounds actually insanely good. I’m actually wildly curious what kind of power your car is making with the cam, it looks like you’ve got some MSDS headers on there and now with a nice free flowing exhaust…. I bet you with a Lindsey MAF kit you might have a mid 7 second- maybe even a high 6 second car lol (0-60). Looks like you have a 3 inch exhaust setup. How does the car feel to drive? Is it super boggy in the lower end? It seems like it accelerates perfectly fine to me but everyone always says 3inch exhaust and longtube headers kills your torque but your torque looks just fine to me 😅

So, I actually ran with a dragy gps system when I launched afterwards and I got some results that kind of surprised me... Albeit I still don't know how to properly launch this thing, and I don't like to beat on it That being said, my 0-60 time was 12.93 seconds...now the biggest factor is the altitude. I did this run at 7437 ft above sea level. Definitely not what it feels like, and my 986 boxster also timed really high at 9.31 seconds, so I think the altitude is playing a huge factor. Driving the car is pretty smooth when you are in the throttle. Due to the high overlap cam, you need to be either on or off the throttle at low speed or else it will buck a decent bit. I haven't really noticed any torque loss, but then again I don't have a reference point to compare against. If I ever feel like switching the ECU out to do the MAF kit I will, but for now I am pretty content with just hitting up some car shows every once and a while.

@@TheMileHighMechanic Huh that is interesting! Altitude 100% is in play no doubt. I totally understand your reasoning hahahaha the NAs just aren’t ever going to be fast but sounds like you have a great weekend/ cars and coffee car no doubt. Thanks for the input! Been going back and forth on camming mine but I think I’ll at least throw some headers on there just because lol.

Yeah, I really can't complain with this car right now... compared to my boxster it is a reliability machine🤷

@@TheMileHighMechanic Don’t say that I was looking at 986s for a potential daily 😂😂😂😂😂

@@TakeFlightGarage I just have some security system gremlins at the moment that don't seem to be documented by anyone. Overall the car is great.
