I got my transaxle out this weekend. Thanks to Tim and the CRE team for this (and other)videos. The rear half is deceivingly tricky, but was forewarned by this video and knew what to do. It was easy.

The grey coupler for me is not sliding off the transmission input shaft. I bought the transmission used and it was challenging to move when i got it but its even more difficult now that i only have a tiny window to work with

Squirt some penetrant and get it sliding back-and-forth. Make sure the four big bolts on the transmission bell housing are tight against the torque tube or the gray coupler will bind on the shaft

@@ComeauRacingEnterprises looks like mine was bent. Had a friend of mine have a crack at straightening it out and he got it somehow. I don't know what he did but it works perfectly now.

I'm having an issue where the coupler keeps working loose. Porsche specialist shop tightened and less than 200 miles later, I have noise from her coupler again. Is it common practice to use blue thread-locker on these?

That coupler has never come loose on me at 58 ft/lbs! If you need, I can ship you another one. It's basically a collar with only 2 spot welds because it needs to pinch tighter than when it's relaxed.

I’m getting lost when talk about sliding the coupler backwards on to the trans before you loosen the 4 bolts on the housing, can you replace the coupler through the inspection hole. Or do you I have to take the trans completely out. Thanks

No, you can’t replace the coupler without removing the transmission completely
