I bought my 911 S mostly for the amazing air conditioning power, the rest of the car is okay I guess

I have a GTS being built in August. I am trading my 570s and was worried about the step down in hp. It was good to hear you thought they were similar. I will be getting a manual so I am aware it won't be as fast 0-60 as the pdk but as long as it feels like it has similar hp as 570.

Manual all the way. I would trade the 570 for a manual 992

Beautiful machine…. I am purchasing my first Porsche tomorrow. This exact model in the dark green with moderate options one of which is the chrono package. I am getting the pdk. I rest drove a 992 2019. It’s shocking how much fun this thing is. I love the engine at the back. You can feel it “vibtrate”. Shifting is so much fun! Nice content by they way! Th aka fir sharing! Looking forward to visiting the dealership. Apparently it’s an 18 month waitlist. Just need to put a modest dow payment.

@@GlennsCarCollection Hi there! Thank you! I just got back from the Porsche dealership after putting down my deposit for my new 911s 992. It’s in that Augustine green colour with sports chrono package, sports exhausts, tailpipes finished in high gloss satin (I think it’s callled that) I got the carerra s wheels, Bordeaux red leather interior Bose sound system, parking assist and pdls lights, interior lighting and door sill lighting, aswell as some other “minor” features. It’s simply beautiful. I don’t know what to say lol. I know it’s not fully loaded but I have a budget I promised myself and managed to keep within it. I actually could have gone crazy with the options.it’s insane! I was told it’s an approx 18 month wait. I was hesitant at first but then I thought to myself I can wait this long for the exact car I want. I am 49 and have always looked at Porsche from afar for 25 years. After working for 20 years in oil and gas overseas working 60 hour weeks I thought I’d pull the trigger and get one. I’m so stoked.🤭🤤🤤😄.

These 992’s are really growing on my, but I think I’d rather have yours. Smaller and a bit less complicated.

I went from a 991.2 base to a 992 C2S with PDK and this is my opinion of the 992. Love the looks, super quick, but prefer the 991.2 seats and interior layout. The outer 2 gauges are useless on the 992 due to the position. The 992 is insanely smooth and handles great but it’s almost too easy. Quite honestly I wish I would have kept my 991.2. It was more fun and had more character. Luckily I purchased my 992 when a discount could still be had so I flipped it for a $10k profit and got a Lotus. The Lotus is great but overall I would take either of my 911’s over it. What blows my mind are the prices that the 991.2 and 992’s are bringing on the used market. To each their own but I owned the 992 C2S and in my opinion one has to be nuts to drop $150k and up on it. Not a Corvette guy but currently have a C8 on order for sticker. Of course it will take forever and a day to arrive but it’s one of the few sports cars that are priced reasonably right now if you can get it at sticker. I will always be a #1 fan of the 911 but 911’s already bring a big premium at MSRP. Unless it’s a GT3, it’s insane to pay over sticker.

One more thing I would like to add to this. Outside of the GT3’s the 992’s don’t sound near as good as previous gen models. When one buys a 911 you want the awesome sound. You’re not getting that with the new 992’s outside of the GT3. There is more to a car than 0 to 60 time. A 3 second car is not the unicorn it used to be. When dropping $150k and up and a new sport’s car, it should have a better sound than what the 992 (non GT3) is putting out.

Great comment thanks for sharing. I was thinking of eventually upgrading to a 992 but now I think I will keep my 991.2. I love driving it.

@@GlennsCarCollection 991.2 base with a manual is definitely a sweet spot in the 911 line up in my opinion. Miami blue exterior is also icing on the cake!

The manuals are lots of fun but for quite a few years I marveled at pdk technical achievement. Being a car geek like myself sometimes the technological advancement experience supersedes my 40 odd years of owning manual transmission car fun. Not a popular opinion these days but dct ala pdk in porsches pdk/dct gets my vote. I admire the manuals but these days I prefer the superior efficiency and performance of the computer activated clutches. Great review and just playing devils advocate. ;)

Welcome to Quantitative Tightening. With the Chinese economy in the crapper, now Prosche feels the need to redirect allocation to the U.S. At no time did the demand for Porsche product line fall off in the U.S. Now all of a sudden we are important again. This is how you treat a customer becasue it's a one time transaction. The U.S. marekt consist of Clients that a company like Porache needs to build relationships with Clients because we do repeat business, give referrals, and never ask for discount because we know their are no free rides.
