No doubt there's a data PID that would have shown straight away what was happening with the microswitch. But if you've never seen the fault before, or had experience with the system you probably wouldn't have a clue what the issue was. At least we all know now. Thanks for the info. Excellent job 👍

Nice one Luis. Because I have towed a few of these cars to my workshop I know about the emergency release but never had an issue with the key being stuck. About leaving the key in the ignition of a Boxster you have nothing to worry about. Nobody in his, not her but his, right mind will take the car. The " poor people's " Porsche is not the most reliable as a daily driver.

good morning luis i thought it would be in the gear leaver a micro switch but no codes {have a look at diagnose dan vw dsg problem fixed cheap he had a code} with the gear leaver not locking no code = stuck interlock lever nice going there good timing with the rain loving you vids

My '08 is doing the the same thing with the key. Buy my car is a standard transmission. I am going to follow your lead and test my ignition switch first. If it is ok i will be digging for drawings after that.. Great video! thank you.

A great repair without replacing any parts, in a Porsche, in what seems to be a common problem?! Many Porsche dealers out there are going to be very mad at you! You can be certain you'll never get any diagrams or tips from them!
