Everything begins with the fabrication of the body. Eight hours is all they need for the entire production of a fully galvanized aluminum-steel car body. On more than 35 thousand square meters, a 400-strong robot army supported by people turn pure sheet metal into sub-frames. Around the clock. A perfectly synchronized spectacle with the precision of a clockwork in perpetual motion.
Each individual Macan car body is checked with utmost precision. The same applies to the paint surface and the assembled car. The extent of the individual quality control is unique in mass production - and for Porsche, an absolute necessity.
Since the opening of the Leipzig factory, Porsche has invested over EUR 1.3 billion in this facility - and it is always constantly expanding. Protecting the environment is one key aspect of the investments. Energy is saved in the halls through efficient robotic use, and produced on the rooftops from natural solar energy. The photovoltaic system consists of more than 17,500 modules. Immediately behind the assembly halls and the company's own circular track, there is an entirely different world! Here, Porsche has created ecological compensation areas for the sealed ground space. 25 Exmoor ponies and 75 aurochs graze on this managed eco-system.

Recently gir my first Porsche - a Cayenne twin turbo 4.5 v8 monster and I absolutely love it. You can tell it's much better put together than just about any other car I have had - that includes Mercedes, Jaguar, Range Rover, Ford etc etc. It's quite old now but still no nasty rattles or other problems. I hope to keep it for a good while, unless I win the lottery, in which case a Macan beckons.

Great video. I'm a happy Macan owner. I think 911 and Macan are the best cars made by Porsche now. After 9 years, there is still no sporty suv as well rounded as my 18 Macan GTS. Adding air suspension to a small suv is magical. If Porsche decides to make another generation of ICE Macan, please make it lighter and with stronger timing cover bolts and transfer case.

the transfer case issue was fixed in 2019 i believe. The 3rd gen Macan S/GTS with the 2.9 is also amazingly reliable - and sounds amazing as well :).

I own a 2016 Macan Turbo. It is 7 years old now with 90,000 miles. It drives and feels as nice today as when I bought her 7 years ago. Fun, quiet, comfortable, fast, gorgeous, and really well made.

Hmmm....I find it fascinating when you compare this "automated factory" with the facility used to build the new Bugattis, especially the awesome Chiron Super Sport 300+. They are entirely hand built and the performance specs are out of this world. The videos are available here on KZbin, along with the one of their breaking of the 300 mph barrier for production sport cars. (490.5 kph=304.8 mph)

What… The interior quality is night and day compared to a Nissan. The Macan’s drivetrains are masterful, and I can say the chassis is the best handling of its class. And I dare say that the Macan is the best value for money compared to its competitors. A specced up Macan S generally costs less than an X3 M40i and GLC 43. Are you really comparing a car that does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, tops out at 170mph, to sh*tboxes that do 0-60 in 10 seconds, and can barely go past 100mph?
