Some have asked why I didn't replace the sensor instead of bypassing it. The sensor isn't replaceable or repairable itself. In order to replace the sensor, the complete foam cushion of the seat has to be replaced. As an electronic guy, I was more comfortable with an electric fix than removing all the leather and foam off my seat. My solution was much less expensive as well.

Hey Jack, I have the same issue (i believe) with my Cayenne, if I press the ventilated seat button on driver side, it will lit 3 lights up but wont engage while the passenger seat works just fine. Do you have a video of how to remove and replace the seat temperature sensor?

The seat temp sensor is built into the seat cushion. It's not serviceable, other than replacing the whole cushion. That's why I bypassed the sensor, and because I didn't prefer to remove all the leather of my seat to access the cushion.

Ok I see. I do have a leather damage (car is used, just purchased it) so maybe I can compare price for the cushion and see if it is worthy to attempt the fix. where would you order that cushion part, if you would need to?@@jackharding98

@@simquest677 Suncoast, pelican parts, or your local dealership. Is where you might order the cushion.

Hey I have a similar issue. Ignorant question here: is there any reason you can’t just replace the sensor? Is it a lot more complicated or something?

It's not serviceable. The sensor is built into the cushion. Porsche only sells the cushions, not the sensor. As an electronic guy, I was more comfortable doing what I did rather than removing the leather upholstery to dissect a cushion.
