Mercedes and Porsche both, for all their world class expertise and experience, for some reason they never got the cheap fun recipe right. If they didn’t want to hurt their reputation, they could’ve done the reverse of what Honda Toyota and Nissan did. Instead of starting a luxury line, they could’ve started an economy line.

Porsche has never been Ferrari level pretentious and always tried to have an entry model under the 911 ever since the 912 with the 356 engine The 914 was going to be sold as a VW-Porsche but Posrche literally begged VW to let them sell it as as just Porsche in the US besides, not making the 984 didn't stop them from developing the Boxster, and later the Cayman, as their entry model

The 924 should have gone to VW after Porsche was done with it, the way that the Audi 80 from the seventies became the VW Fox of the eighties.

Porsche should have looked into this idea a little more, I think a 2 seat 928 or 944 would have been a good looking car. Convertible/mid engine versions could have been tried if possible.

An ugly bug of a car, too heavy-looking at the front - the BMW Z1 reminds us of this clumsy profile and world was better off with the MX5/Miata.

Why do no car maker make cheep sporty RWD light weight 2 seaters... The 2 seater "sport car" of Mercedes for example is 2 tons light weight TANK !!!. 'A few days ago I did drive a Zuzuki Ignis, it i 780kg and 90hp with 4wd, but it is a fkn SUV, but still more fun to drive then most of the light weight tanks pretending to be sports cars.
