I agree, the Cross Turismo especially in Cherry Metallic or Gentian Blue looks better than the regular Taycan. The Electrify America stations still need some improvement in the United States, it make a good second or third car though

Definitely prefer this CrossTurismo than the regular. Looks like big hatch than a crossover which is good and Taycan design overall looks more fitting with this body style imo. Not to mention, it's more practical with full hatch at the back. Nice Porsche 👌🏼

For me, it would be the Cross Torismo over the sedan. Still looks very sporty. But with the animal-free interior, of course. Please Porsche, give us manual air vents. Having to use a touch screen simply to adjust the vents is a non-starter. Now, I'll just wait for Thomas to review the Porsche E-bikes. :)

No way, sedans are dying in the US. I think Porsche made this "Outback" version of the Taycan with the wheel arch cladding specifically with the US in mind so American consumers will think it is a crossover even though it is obviously a station wagon. I predict US sales will also favor the Cross Turismo over the sedan.

I've been waiting to see a review on the Cross version, I was already sold on the design, but having seen your review I'm convinced I love it. Great to see the colour options on screen as well, the configurator never comes across properly. What was your favorite colour? I can see it being a big seller in the UK, my OPC is suggesting no cars until Sept at the earliest. I'd go for base CT4, good value really when you consider, air suspension , performance battery etc

Oh, that frozen berry is a wonderful colour. I’ve been seeing more interesting colours and wider ranging colour options in the last year, hopefully this marks the beginning of the end for manufacturers only offering 3/5 colours. I miss when brochures had 15-30 different paint options!

First Taycan video I see that does a really good job at highlighting differences between the different models and colors. Great job as usual Thomas. I’m still really torn between the Panamera Sport Turismo and the Taycan Cross Turismo, but if I go Taycan, the bike carrier and off road package would be a must!

I find 270mi range pretty reliable with freeway speeds and approximate 60-65F temps with 20” heels on my Taycan 4S. I think it’s an excellent road trip EV because of its very fast charging. I also have ordered the roof rack and box. The handling is where the comparison will end with other EVs in my opinion.

Excellent review! The Thomas performance drift lounge was in full effect ⚠️🚧‼️ In the USA my guess is that the sportier ‘off-roadische’ version of the Cross Turismo will be most popular. The sedan is very beautiful though in the special Neptune blue. The greater headroom and adventure options of the Cross Turismo also look very good! 🏁

Thanks for the video Thomas. I think a hatch (estate) is so much more practical for anyone with a family than the sedan that it will quickly outsell it in most markets. I would have one in mamaba green...but will all the options why aren't the black gloss wheel arch trims available unless you go for a Turbo S?...the 4 S is probably much more affordable and has a bigger range...but I want those gloss black trims please!! 👍🏻😎 This is the first EV that has got my mouth watering.

Watching from the US, and I can personally say, this Taycan Cross Turismo (especially the Turbo S) would be the only EV if I was in the market. I do think that Rivian is extremely interesting and unique, as well as that Lucid offering, but for a vehicle that can do pretty much everything, be as fast and agile as it is, AND coming from Porsche....it's really a no-brainer. I would like if they offered an Exclusive Manufaktur interior option though, plenty of interesting Paint to Sample offerings, but most would be limited to running a black interior if you went with one, so an Exclusive Manufaktur interior option would go a long way.

I have yet to see the Cross Turismo in the US but it looks like a huge improvement over the Taycan, which are showing up in the usual places. If you have the charging infrastructure at your home/office, it's a no brainer to get this over the Panamera wagon. Re the price point, I was riding my bike up the Merritt Parkway in CT last week next to a Mustang Mach E in electric blue. Very cool car at 1/4 the price. Interesting times for personal transport.

Beautiful car, another fine review by Thomas. I expect that a large share of Taycan sales in the U.S. will be Cross Turismos. Which may not be many cars in this country if VAG/Audi/Porsche stick with these low capacity/short range batteries. They are giving Tesla lots of breathing room and time by trying to sell us on short range batteries. You can be sure that Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai-Kia/Genesis, Honda/Acura and others will see battery range as a major opportunity vs Audi/Porsche.

I notice that the door handles pop out when you unlock the car with the key fob. What happens to the door handles once you get inside the car and close the door? Do they stay extended? Do they fold back in when the car is turned on, and extend again when the car is turned off?

You should check out real world testing. For whatever reason Porsche under reports the range. All the real world testing has shown that the Taycan is one of the more efficient EVs. Especially on Eco/Range mode where the car lowers itself and only uses the high gear on the rear axle, the Taycan has been shown to go almost 300 miles on a charge. It also recharges extremely quickly on DC fast charge. For instance Edmunds does their own standardized range testing simulating real world driving. The Taycan 4S sedan has an EPA range of only 199 miles, yet got 323 miles from Edmunds. The Tesla Model S has EPA rating of 334 miles, yet only got 318 miles from Edmunds. Tesla has a bigger charging network, but in terms of range, Taycan is right up there with them. In fact many of the new EVs have good efficiency, such as Hyundai models, and even the BMW iX3, which is adapted from a regular ICE X3, still has excellent efficiency. Tesla tries its hardest to game the EPA testing in the USA to claim a long range, but almost always cannot actually achieve them, whereas Porsche and BMW will beat their own range estimates.

This may work in the US, where you aren’t allowed to drive faster anyway, but not on the German Autobahn. And for weekend trips / road trips, real-world range of 300 miles is just too low.
