Happy birthday, sir! However I'm afraid it appears that you might be too tall to fit in the limo when it's done.... unless you install a sunroof. 😂😂
@FicarraClassic2 күн бұрын
Thanks! And we are going to install the rear seats onto the floor, so plenty of headroom. Of course we need a floor first!

0:19 Hello John: Firstly, Many happy returns of the day. Good luck with the head studs. On the episode of Top Gear where the Stig drove the Lotus 72, I can remember James May saying something the about 72's torsion bar suspension being easier on the tires in slower corners. I have owned 3 VW Beetles so I know all about torsion bars. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Professionally, one would use a TIG welder on aluminum. A TIG is way better at controlling temp. , type of filler and speed one is able to feed filler into the melting pool. Aluminum is great for conducting heat, hence the reason manufacturers make heat sinks out of them.

Can’t wait to start doing aluminum!

Torsion bars/beams are used a lot in tanks because they are so simple and compact for its specs, but its "tough as hell steel bars as springs" nature tend to make ride harsher, that's why it's rare in cars.
@jensenhealey907efi2 күн бұрын
All Jaguar E-Types use torsion bars for the front suspension as well. I have never heard of people claiming those ride harsh as a result of that.

Great update on the build! She's coming along nicely! The go-kart is super rad! Any thoughts on what the McQueen 917 will go for when it crosses the block? Go Ficarra Classic, keep moving forward!
@FicarraClassic2 күн бұрын
Thanks! Hard to say on the McQueen 917. If past sales are any indication it will be north of $15 million. I don't think $20m is impossible. We shall see!

Unlike Frankenstein's monster, the Porsche limo now looks far greater than the sum of it's parts. Thanks for catching us up with this great Christmas update...on your *birthday* John. Question: Is that a door from Johnny Ongias' Interscope Porsche 935 hanging on the wall?

It was a gift from a fan. Still haven't figured out what it was. Certainly old since it has a radiator in the front instead in the side pods. Someday we'll find out!

After having seen one at a friend's place that there are 911 go-karts as well. If you search for that on your fav search engine you will see photos of those.

Working on it! If you look closely my mic gets knocked off when I'm playing with the control arms. Nobody noticed it so we made due with the audio we had.
