For those as curious as me: From what i can see the SoC went from 100% to roughly 55%. With a net battery capacity of 97kWh this means an energy consumption of 43,65 kWh or 209,5 kWh/100km. Thats 10 times whats needed for everyday driving. I know that's irrelevant in this context but interesting nontheless.

@davidfujkk8018 SSBs are an option on the future, but catl will not be able to mass-produce them anytime soon: 1. SSBs are incredibly unsafe, thanks to the lithium anode, which can basically just strafe into the cathode and react with it, so it basically explodes. 2. SSBs are in it's current form wayyy to expensive, and that is nothing that will get better anytime soon, even if mass production, because of the high amount of lithium used in the cells. This makes SSBs not only high in cost, but also extremely damaging to the environment, and needs a lot of more safety in manufacturing. 3. SSBs have a short lifespan of just up to 200-500 cycles, which is way less than modern nmc or lfp cells While SSBs are very interesting, they are not a savior battery like some display them at, take them with a grain of salt, there is no holy grail. Sodium-batteries are much more likely to go into production soon, due to their very cheap prices and not to bad energy density (a tad worse than nmc cells, but better than many lfp cells)

@@mopsnuf Brakes aren't an issue because the electric motors do most of the braking, so the friction brakes are very understressed
4 ай бұрын
@@LamantinoElettronico They do most of the work when daily driving it. Not here, you can find tons of older gens of Tesla to overheat their brakes, because Tesla thought that standard brakes arent so important since you can brake with the motor. You can, but you can recuperate just some amount of kinetic energy and in some sections of the track you can very easily overheat the brakes even on the EV! So yes, the motors are helping with slowing down, but in this case most of the work is done with the help of conventional brakes.
@LamantinoElettronico4 ай бұрын
I reckon problems would mostly arise when either a) the battery is full or b) the braking power is greater than what the powertrain can absorb into the battery. Usually the maximum regeneration power is bottlenecked either by the motor or the battery but either way it's usually similar to the maximum propulsive power... Which is an order of magnitude lower than what the brakes can turn into heat. Someone once told me that on a classic gasoline or diesel engined European city car econobox like a VW Polo or FIAT Punto the engine may be around 40-70kW but the brakes can turn well over 400kW into heat when you slam the pedal
4 ай бұрын
@@LamantinoElettronico Well, another problem is the heat - you are stressing the battery and whole powerunit by pushing it to the limit. Energy recuperation is another significant heat source for EV - thats the reason, why regen is often turned off completely on EVs on the circuit - very often the battery overheat and limited the power when driving the Nordschleife with regen on. Im not saying, that the braking with emotor isnt significant, but Im not sure, that on the track is often even used because of heat and power limitation coming from another heat source.

Even this taycan do a sandbagging, its still only 2sec slower than rimac nevera. Fastest production EV car for now.

Not ordinarily a fan of EV’s, but that could be the exception.

The one electric car I actually like, with that two speed. Way to go Taycan Turbo GT! (Weissach is slightly pointless but cool nonetheless)

Agreed Porsche is really one of the few brands truly putting out some crazy innovation with Evs putting these other manufacturers to shame

It's actually 2 seconds ahead of the nevera at the top of the long straight. So the nevera gains that four seconds by hitting 217 mph instead of 190
@aneticus93378 ай бұрын
it's 17 seconds ahead of the plaid at that point (measuring when the car passes the end of the last curb on the right before the long straight)
