Portable backdrop and simple lighting!

This portable backdrop and one light system just works. The X Drop Pro and the Godox AD100 Pro with Angler 24” softbox work very well together.

John - I know you only run a small show here, but out of all the photography Y/T people I'm subscribed to, your clips are always the ones I enjoy the most. You are honest, no bullcrud, you shoot real human beings, not your cat and a flower outside and expect us to take it seriously. You are also a bit of a gear head like me, but not too much, and your suff is always informative. May I ask, can you please do a video on your how 'Blad', and tell us when you use it as opposed to the Leica, how you like it, where it came from, how the images shape up to the Leica files etc..

When I used the Savage backdrop (similar to the Westcott) I made my own backdrops using Panne material from the fabric store. I just added grommets myself. The fabris is 5 foot wide and then I had them cut it to 7 ft length. Worked great. I have since gotten rig of the frame but I have hooks on my wall to match the grommet holes...

Yes, that locking feature is great. But it is part of the insert so if you have the original, it’s just a matter of buying the new insert.

great to see this as its exactly the backdrop I would like to get as having used paper rolls and vinyl rolls this would suit me well for my portable and space saving needs - Did you try the longer version Xdrop sweep version backdrops for full length shots? for me as I do more fashion as well as portraits having full length would be best

as far as the backdrop is concerned, what would you say the use case would be for the larger backdrop system 8x5 vs the smaller profile one 5x7?

on a 2 hour shoot i'm lucky to do 6 rolls and a a few 4x5 shots and maybe 150 digital captures. I hate that word captures
