This was really helpful, I've always wanted to see some practical application and thought process behind TTL flash use to get the most out of it. I really like your approach for calibrating it to get the exposure you want. it's not as plug and play as I'm led to believe. Thanks again

Great video 👍 I believe it’s mostly about different metering modes and the direction of the flash that determines good exposure to your subject, I’ve been using flash for a good few years and I’m still picking up new points every time I shoot a different event with different lighting and ambiance at venues

I thought you should always use treat 1/125 as the slowest shutter to freeze a smile in ambient light. Interesting you are using 1/80th with the flash whilst still wanting ambient light.....Your expertise is always appreciated.

Def depends on the ambient. I will go down to 1/60 or lower at times but I switch to rear curtain flash for those situations.

When you were bouncing off the white v-flat with the Stofen on the flash she was still getting a bit of hard, frontal light from the right side of the flash, which accounts for all those specular highlights on her. I always find it's better to lose the diffuser if you're going to bounce off a wall or v-flat anyway.
