You can use the propane indoors it burns extremely clean Marine stoves are usually propane and they're inside the cabin.

I didn't use it n my cabin because I had nowhere to put it and was afraid of it falling over if I tried. The space in there was just too small. I have a bigger boat now with a galley and alcohol stove that I just love - soooo much better!
