this is a top 10 video for flight simmers wanting to start out in great shape.

This is awesome. I’ve been wanting to get into flight simulator. I would want to use physical controls so this approach is very appealing to me. Thanks for sharing.

Well done mate, even if there was an obscene amount of glue used! 😉😆 Now, to quickly whip up a riser for the monitors. 👌🏽 Looks great. 👍🏽

Honestly, that handheld router is one of the best tools to have on a battery, because you're always having to use it in awkward corners. Also, that duct tape will leave some nasty sticky residue if you remove it. That's the downside of it holding everything in place so well.
@MarkSusak2 жыл бұрын
I would have to agree. Circular saws you can manage, but for a smaller trim router for corners, curves even indented work, cordless is fantastic

Once you got the flip-top out it was like a light-bulb was being lit inside of my brain xD I was like, *_ooooooooh that's where I know this dude from haha_*

I built a laptop sim. Metal box same size as laptop, two inches deep. Got old tomahawk control wheel. Alternat cut a broom handle. Attached to cupboard clothes rail 1 inch dia., used it's mountings as the two bearings. Inside bungy cord. The Leo bodner usb module. Used it's analogue inputs for pitch roll throttle mixture, trim, using potentiometers. Toggle switches for other inputs.

Nice. Not sure if you've noticed but the bottom of the yoke has some threaded inserts that you could have screwed into from below. I'm going to have to do something similar and had been thinking about what to do because I have the same scenario and ideally, want to just plug in one USB cable and not have to keep bolting individual bits to the desk and disassemble afterwards.

The main point is whether it works a not, not so much about the messy wiring. Even if the wiring is going to be neat but things aren't working, what is its use? This cockpit is awesome! love it!
@PanRider9392 жыл бұрын
Wow that's neat. Note, if you use one of the cockpit instrument panel apps on your tablet in place of where the maps are sitting, you don't need the cockpit view on your monitor. Lift your monitor up level with the top of your cockpit, and get more visuals.

Tx Mark, splendid advice. After viewing your video I plan to build me your portable cockpit, incl 2 saitek panels (switch and ap) . And after the vid of George Findlay also on youtube i went for the IpadMini 1 on dutch Marktplaats. Now proud owner of 3 of them ipads, for ca € 30 each, and the remote flight bundle installed. The 3 ipadsM also in your cockpit. Tx very much ! grtz Jeff, The Netherlands

Good to see you using a push through tool on that table saw.........too many "big shots" can't go bowling anymore.......good for you brother. +++++ AND AGAIN.....do not reach over a spinning blade...LET IT DROP......it's not going to run away......Great project!

Is the completed cockpit sitting freely on your desktop? If so, doesn't move when you pull on the control yoke?
@TheDakRadz2 жыл бұрын
You did great on the actual, bigger wood pieces during kerf bend cutting, but the way you grabbed for the smaller test pieces rather negates the pushblock you used for safety Just a helpful suggestion, as "Ol' Ace 9 Digits" isn't much of a callsign 😉

Can I recommend wall mounting you main monitor so it is above your cockpit. We have the identical three pieces of gear, yoke, MFD panel and switch panel. I would love to make something like you have to hold everything. I would lve to see a demonstration of how you use your stream deck with flight simulator, it might be something I would be interested in getting. Check out my setup and let me know what you think.

So did you have to do anything with the landing gear panel to get it to work. I cannot get that thing to even show up on my computer. Have downloaded the drivers for it and everything. Any advise? Maybe I got a bad one?
@MarkSusak3 жыл бұрын
I was experiencing the same thing. You have to download a very small driver from the Logitech website for this to work on FS2020
@homeworxchannel41203 жыл бұрын
Yes I did download it and it's still not recognized in the computer. I'll probsbly send it back. I originally was going to use it for DCS and what a pain to set up. I recently started 3d printing so ill probably try to create my own instead.
