tnx for lots of good info one question does AVR make generator good for computers or i still need to buy small UPS to make it clean before using it

Thanks for watching. With any generator, you'll need to pay attention to the TDH (total harmonic distortion) levels to determine how "dirty" the portable's sine wave will be. Even today, for the average person/use case, we still recommend inverter generators for clean power on sensitive electronics like computers, TVs, phones, etc. When you get into Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) units, those types of solutions are more common in commercial applications to power critical electronics at much larger scales. If you have more questions about this, please give us a call and we can walk through more of the specifics of your needs.

I’ve a garage workshop with no power, all my tools are cordless however I’d love to get a bench top thickness planer…would a portable be able to handle that for short periods ?

how about the best generator for your purpose? I was looking to find out how to pick a certain type of generator for a specific purpose. How to decide which one is for what use

I was told to look for the wattage used by the sources you need to stay in - refrigerator, well pump, lights? Fan for wood stove insert?

Well done but if your running a portable without a 240 outlet there's very little chance your going to hook into a transfer switch.

We actually have manual transfer switches designed for 120V use with generators that do not have 240V outlets. These will work great for small 120V circuits in your home's electrical panel.
