Love foredom tools! I bought the k.1070 last week with the 1/8 collet and bought the 3/32 adaptor, by the way Rio Grande said you could not do this (go to the 3/32 from 1/8) as sell they had no idea what about the k.1070 with 1/8 collet so I purchased directly from Foredom!

....I could see this being useful at Art Fairs when patrons ask for special inscriptions on pieces for gifts to their friends. Very nice...I may buy one. I like the demos that Foredom offers, but I wish they would offer many more. I would like to see the High Torque foredom unit in action. (400 bucks seems pretty expensive tho).

400 is dirt cheap for a jewelers micromotor... probably the cheapest one worth buying on the market.

@@c.e.schlink9933 correction foredom does sell at a premium ,definitely not dirt cheap but an affordable kit relatively

Is suggest second hand or Asian hardware first before jumping into foredom . You might find you don't even like micromotors or the hand piece it comes with might not be favorable after getting the feel for it. Foredom handpieces can cost 400$ and I'd argue thats really the only part you should worry about if longevity isn't an issue . Foredom will always be better but you have to know exactly what you want or matter what it won't work for you

would this be good enough for gold and silver jewelry making for my work bench at home? I was looking at the foredom flexshaft but they are conciderably louder and I won't really be doing any heavy drilling just gem setting and shaping and polishing.... what do you think? is there enough torque to do those things?

how often do you have to change the motor brush, can this run on dc power vs only battery? is the battery replaceable and how much does it cost to replace?
@ForedomElectricCo3 жыл бұрын
Motor brushes always depend on how hard you work and hours of usage.We suggest checking them after every 200 hours of usage and replacing if they are less than 2mm long. (they are small) You can use it while plugged into power outlet, but charging will not be as efficient while it is being used at the same time. You can replace the battery - we sell them. Right now the battery is $104. to replace. We have gotten very few orders for the batteries so I would assume that they hold up pretty well. We sell far more motor brushes than batteries (also less expensive) for these. People often like to have a spare pair of motor brushes just in case.

WoW! First time a see a torquy one. I know it is a Foredom but I wouldn’t have never expected that. Expensive but probably worth it but why this portable over the main one? Why would we need a portable for.
@ForedomElectricCo Жыл бұрын
Portable, perfect for working at multiple stations, craft or outdoor events, demonstrations, or when power may not be available The K.1030 Micromotor with pocket-size control unit has built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery for portability. Control unit has a digital RPM display at the top and a dial on the front adjusts speed from 0-30,000 RPM. Run time is approximately 6-7 hours, depending on whether the micromotor is in continuous use in battery mode.

Man, you suck at carving duck's bills ;) I wish the customs fees and exchange rate weren't making the price comparable to a month's rent.
