Anderson connectors is the original name brand. They come in 50, 175 and 350 amp load rating connectors. Crimp-able lugs for wire gauges 12 thru OO. That is for charger connections too as used in industrial ac and bc drive trucks, golf carts and the like. I also use them on my RV and solar panel power lines. The flat blade screw driver is the most common tool used to work on the connectors but I made an aluminum jaw pliers (scissors) that works on all three sizes when doing lots of misc. cable servicing/charger repairs in an industrial use setting. Just thought to cover that information.

having a winch on the front & rear is also good if u get a flat & there is a tree near by, u can use the winch as a jack to lift the cart up to change the tire. there is so many more things that winch can do, mainly to save ur back..

My buddy winch his 6x6 ranger up a tree branch completely off the ground out of the mud. Then with a second winch he winched it backwards over the mud it hit ground just on solid ground!

I just did something similar. For the hardwired controls, you can find the same connectors that the control box has (looks like 4 pin CB mic connectors) and install a switch/harness for each vehicle. If you are running dual winches, could tap the existing harness into a front/rear toggle as well. For a front or rear hitch style, you could run the switch to panel mount connector and then have a pigtail cord to reach both ends of the vehicle as required. You can also adapt other winch brands to work with the same wireless control or with every vehicle mounted control by swapping them all to the same connector.

High vibration connections work best with crimp not solder. Automotive and machine tools rarely if ever use solder. You just like the Robogrips for the initials RBG ;-)

Is that winch water proof? Hooking so low to the carriage could put the winch under water. An adapter extension to bring the winch higher on the body may be needed in "some" cases.

If you are going to use the winch it might be a idea to fit a larger or second battery

You have just added 2 motors that are more powerful than a V8 starter motor, also the Anderson connector you are using look like 50 amp, check the stall (what it drews when under full load) current of the winch. Good luck

The bigger the winch the better. For winch indeed but the bigger means higher powerconsumption. How big is the battery? If you halfway during winching have to stop and wait till you battery is charged again? Ps. On the connector. If you want to put something else on power oke. But i come from the boats camp and corrosion is an issue. Thats why the crimp connectors also have a sealing paste added. I would put the connector somewhere inside. The 1 1/2 or 2 feet longer powersupply cables may consume a bit more power. But i read all the brochures. What i found out: the only good, watertight, connector is a straight cable. Can someone tell me how excessible the batterys are? If bad i think an easy excespoint has to be made.

I hate to say this but that winch looks goofy sticking out like that. Too bad it can't be tucked in further. Looks like it will be in the way and totally effect your approach angle and prevent you from driving over stuff without catching the winch.

Jesse Shelby thats why it is portable. Put it in your fourwheeler (or what you drive) and only when stuck put it in the hatch. Then its not in the way when driving.
