I think you could achieve the exact eyelid look by trimming the rounded top of the top eye lid and the rounded bottom of the bottom eye lid to be flush with the ring you have around the eye. This will make it look more accurate and probably save you some room for some other effects later down the line. The eye is still an absolute feat and I think it’s amazing that you got it working. I’m excited to see the next video.

Although complex it would be interesting to see it hooked up to something like a CV program so that it would be able to interact with you. Mainly I’m curious if you can make it “animate itself” by setting up preset angles, for each respective part, for certain emotions so that it can go to that state if it is activated.

Here's a crazy idea: what about flexible eyelids? Or somehow semi or selectively flexible eyelids? That way they could roll up under the shroud and appear to disappear.

After animating core models in SFM, yeah, their eyelids are physically impossible.. or seemingly so. It would be an interesting concept to try and make those 'impossible' eyelids a reality. Someone could probably come up with a blinds-like solution for the eyelids, except with a more rigid material than fabric.
