Valve hires the best voice actors. Ellen McClain's casting was just perfect and her background in opera was put to use in the ending sequence which is an amazing cherry on top for the game, and Stephen Merchant's background in comedy likely contributed a lot to his characters line and delivery like the one you quoted. And the best cast of video game history would be Chell. Her voice actor perfectly captures the feeling and emotion Chell and the player feel during the game.

Ellen is an amazing voice actor and one of the most fun facts about her is that she is actually married to the one voice acting The Sniper in Team Fortress 2!
