The difference is Jessie will be able to perform like this much longer. It's a good thing she doesn't have a Bobby Brown in her life. The execution I find equal but how can anyone top Whitney's voice in her prime. The writer of the song is excellent also.

This song only requires 2 octave and 1 note, and that's not wide at all in range, especially the song uses falsetto at too end which is still low for soprano.

Because this type of singing doesn’t appeal to the general public so record companies don’t make music to showcase these singers’ talents. So a lot of them are stuck singing shitty top 40 pop songs that are made to appeal to a certain trend in the music industry instead of going for quality, originality, creativity or something different than what the trend is. Cruel reality.
@AG-jf8hn4 жыл бұрын
calicolombiano27 true that. They release songs that do not show the extent of their talent. I got goosebumps hearing this performance and another one she did "I will always love you". I am not a fan of hers but I know she is very talented💪

calicolombiano27 the problem with the music industry is that it caters to the simpletons, especially the musicians, to see the great musicians you have go to the small jazz clubs not the big rock arenas, It’s a shame the better the musicians get the smaller the audience gets.

Miss Madeline She’s one of the most technically skilled singers on the planet. 👍 Songs are written to trigger emotion and tell a story, not to showcase technical ability. John Lennon for example. Relatively simple voice but told story through the melodies he wrote. He’s considered one of the greatest songwriters/artists of recorded history.

@moochops28154 жыл бұрын
@@vitorfernandes651 Quite.. it's not effortless. It's seemingly slower and has a slightly disconnected feeling as if she is taking a break now and then whilst hitting the more popular known phrases and forceful lyrics. Absolutely brilliant though! I never realised she had this amount of power and talent in her, very well done indeed. Dolly would be proud I hope. I just noticed she expresses everything with her arms. I don't like that .. just my view though. Great voice is the most important thing here.

Wow. Just wow. I don't think I've heard anyone get this close to actually sounding like Whitney. This was absolutely beautiful. About to listen to every Jessie J song ever.
@lushlife664 Жыл бұрын
If it's close to Whitney is a failure. That's why I don't like covers of this song from other singers. It may be excellent from Whitney but imitation never sounds authentic. Jessy has a unique and superb voice but it seems that this is not her authentic voice. This happens subconsciously, singers think its safer not to wander off the original because they falsely believe that it can't be sung in any other way and still sound great. The only singer that sings this differently is Dolly Pardon and for some reason I like it even more than Whitney's. I think Dolly is the only singer that has sang it in a truly different way. Don't get me wrong Jessie's technique was immaculate but still it's not her.

She didn't change/ move with the times quick enough? (Granted she was poorly too but the Uk'S opinion was already there). It would have probs been a good time to unleash the ABSOLUTE BEAST OF TALENT she is then?? This along with the evil press/ social media seems to have hindered her. I may be wrong? Just an observation! She is also a woman who stands out as a, "SUPER confident, SUPER talented , SUPER alpha, SUPER strong, SUPER beautiful, SUPER intelegent, SUPER "CAN DO IT LIKE A MAN, CAN DO IT LIKE A DUDE! Best cover I heard in a long time, this song is one of the hardest in modern music, also, trying to interpret it is a trap, this song is Whitney and Whitney is this song, Jessie gave it the respect it deserves, well done.

this song is Dolly Parton, then Whitney now Jessie

Whitney butchered this song. Jessie did great. Dolly is still the greatest.
@wincrasher20072 жыл бұрын
the key to a great cover is to re-interpret the song with your own style. That's why Whitney was so successful with Dolly's song, who performed it with strong emotion. Whitney did it amazingly in her own way. This girl is just doing a Whitney impersonation like a drag queen.

@@MarkSmithhhh Not true. Mariah can sing this and has a large range and a very high register which is higher than Whitney. However, Mariah and Whitney are different types of singers. Whitney has more style, is more creative and consistent which makes her sound great and which is why the song soothes her better.
