Sounds awesome one of my favorite saws. You done good with it. Like I was saying if my 272 ran like yours it would probably be one of my most used saws. I been wanting to add a 288 for a while now they feel pretty small for 90cc class and similar ergonomics. I run my stock 272 with a 28" bar and stihl skip chain and it screams for a 272 anyways. Just mm and hyway pop up done to it I'm thinking about trying to open up lowers and gasket delete though.

It cuts good, Charlie. I would like to compare it against my 372XP and MS 440. I think it compares favorably with the MS 460 that I built. Put an RS chain on it and a good light bar.

That thing is a tork monster for a 272 not known for tork but fast chain speed you said it was still a bit fat on top but I didn't hear much 4 stroking out of the cut I know several channels have did tune videos but I would be very interested to see your version of the process and max power, versus fire wood saw, and milling set up

my 272 think it needs seals but mine was stock and my 372xp is stock and i do think the 272 has more tork to me i just bought a 61 ms310 372xp a 365 special and a 359 all together for 200 here in michigan guy sed there part saws but all oem and the 372xp chain brake was stuck but fire right up and the ms310 fired up the 365 needs a coil to see if it runs im thinking about trying my 272 topend on the 61 if thats possible

That thing runs great. What carb are you running? I’m building a 61/272XP hybrid as we speak. Got a HS254 and HS260 haven’t decided which way to go.

I think my 50 mm build is pretty close. They are great saws. My china brake does that too
