Ported Shindaiwa 600SX first run (echo 620 590)

The second best saw I ever owned and I have owned them all. My favorite was a Jonsered 910. I bought it in 1981 and it still runs. It has the original spark plug in it. I used to cut a cord almost everyday. My second favorite saw was a Shindaiwa 375 [ I think] It was fantastic and would outcut any other saw in its class. My saws I use now are an Echo 501P and 590 Timberwolf. [which are Shindaiwa] I am old and can't handle big saws any longer. I love my 501P. It lets me still cut with a fast saw.

The 501 and 590 are both very good about producing power above their class when modified. Stock they are good, but ported they are fantastic!

Absolutely. It has its issues, but overall a great saw for super cheap.

Thanks man! I sure have had a lot of help from some top, top guys. With their suggestions and me finding my own ways, I feel like I have fallen into a very nice little groove of my own. Hopefully I can continue to grow and get better and better.

@@novicelumberjack as long as you keep moving forward, you will be one of those tops guys! It's takes so many years to get there. Trust me I wasn't the best technician in the beginning. Now many people call me and it's a weird change, but very enlightening. Keep on keeping on!

That shindy red sure does look good! As you saw with that 590 with the red top you sold to your tree service buddy, it'll wake up some after a good break in.

I like shindiawa ran there weedeaters and blowers for years and years .they have better handles and designs on weedeaters .echo bought them and echo has the worst handles with exception of 2511t..and the trigger s to on shindiawa weedeaters are best.i started my tree service after a comma medical issue s 5 years ago started it with 488 shindiawa and and shindiawa weedeater.didnt even own a blower at that .point ..next saw I did some tree work for 2511t..praise God for saveing me..went to work the next day got out of comma day after Christmas was 5 years ago..now..looking back amazing..Still have the 488 it has a strange carb only 1 jet other is blocked.bought new coil and parts need to put it back together. Did alot of huge trees with that little saw

I was thinking Velcro for the tach. Piece of hook on all the saws and loop on the tack or visa versa. Anyone think of a reason that wouldn’t work? 👍🏼
