Faron Young was one of the nicest guys in Nashville, He helped more new guys , coming in trying to make it on The Grand Ole Opry, IF you see the Documentary on Faron, there are alot of stars that say the first person that helped them when they moved to. Nashville was Faron Young. He really Was a cool guy !

A lot of the old country singers had problems and yes, we can talk about their weaknesses, but we still have the music that continues to provides to keep us in good feelings. Don't deny the young folks the chance to hear this part of America's music heritage.

Today, it seems like most Country singers are gearing up to be big ROCK stars...just watch the CMA Awards Show sometime. Back when Porter Wagoner and Faron Young were kickin’ up a storm, they did it by singing REAL (and I mean, REAL!) Country Music!!!

@Mookie Spindlehurst (sorry you wrote to much, so I am going to assume whatever you wrote) Um no Idc that you put your own opinion in but to much effort in calling someone out, on putting to much effort in commenting something. I just think that it is ironic. And that not one person cares for the fact that you are calling someone out when obviously quite a few people agree with that person. Now please I will no longer reply to this because I couldn't care less on the fact that you'll just get annoyed and disagree with all I say so... Bye

When I was a young'un my mamaw would watch Porter and when the fiddler started dancing and playing she would say " Look at him dancing around like a worm in hot ashes". She said it everytime but she would clap and pat her foot. Just a flashback. These legends could sing.

Faron Young had a reputation as a big time drinker, rowdy as well. 'monstermoviefan' is probably correct that Faron could be an 'a' hole with some alcohol. His death was suicide, self inflicted gunshot. I wonder though if it was an accident of some sort, Faron was known to be irresponsible with guns while intoxicated.

What was Porter Waggoner’s mother thinking when she added the name of one ‘trade’ to the existing one.... calling her son ‘Porter’..... Porter Waggoner??? That can’t be real......
@kennykittrell25494 жыл бұрын
I always loved the Porter Wagoner Show- but My mother thought thought that if you sang together that you were married. She always thought that Porter was married to Dolly Parton. I said if that's the way it is- I won't sing with a woman!! She even thought that Conway Twitty was married to Lorretta Lynn!! LoL I said Mom They are just singing together. She even said that Donnie Osmond was married to Marie Osmond- I said how can that be when they are brother and sister?? My mom said- They can't sing together if they are not married!!! I'm not singing with another woman again!! Lol

I was enjoying Porter's show until I heard how he acted when Dolly wanted to strike out on her own. He was nasty in all kinds of ways and I'll never watch him again because of that. Dolly, however, wrote "I Will Always Love You" with him in mind and made her way quite well despite him.
@isabella.t_014 жыл бұрын
But then Porter was all nice to Dolly after they patched things up. 'N' when Porter had to sell the rights to all his songs, Dolly bought them all back and gave it to Porter free of charge. She is a real sweetheart. Love her 💖💖💖
