Commissioner Mingus Mapps is asking PBOT not to issue fines for abandoned cars, but drivers who left cars behind will still be on the hook for any towing fees.

Agreed, I'm a Navy transplant from Michigan who has lived in the PNW since '80. I've never seen such a clueless bunch of people when it comes to winter driving, I had the same RWD pickup truck for 30yrs, never had a problem getting around with it, even when 4x4's were in the ditch.........

News interviewed a 30 year on the job trucker .He said it all pbot sucks they don't taken care of the roads and have no snow plows .he said Grant's pass ice the roads and have snow plows ready to go immediately to make roads safe. He also said all the truckers talk about how bad Portland is and how they hate the place. Media has no reporters anymore who do investigations

It's not just rock that's used. Salt/chemical mixtures are used also. Not sure where you're getting your info. Unfortunately salt melts snow and ice and in the single digits that only causes more ice.
