the "problem" with the homeless encampments is actually due to our problem with the mayor ted wheeler who does absolutely nothing to provide them with shelter or help of any kind. The recall Ted Wheeler petition has one more month to go, please consider signing it if you live here!

My favorite parts were burnside bridge and the simple beaches with the cool cloudy feel. so on point for me. there are so many places on this island i forgot i have actually been to in Portland and was reminded of my time there. ugh i miss it 💚🌱🌳

That tree house is phenomenal. It exemplifies what I love about Acnh, which is the creativity of its players. The fact that many people can take the same items and create vastly different builds is remarkable.

That bear is “Smokey the bear” a big mascot in the PNW that teaches kids “only you can prevent forest fires” He teaches basic fire safety stuff. & the bookstore is based off of “Powell’s Books” it’s a really big & famous book store in Portland.

i love this. ive lived in portland all my life and this really does feel like portland. and i like that the sign and statue look like the white stag/made in oregon sign when youre crossing the burnside bridge. such a nice detail. and yeah im glad the tents were included. ive watched the homelessness problem increase so dramatically over my adult life (im almost 40) and its been really sad.

Makes me both happy (for you) and sad (for me and other homless people) that you didn't realize what the tents were for...... and know it has been a while now, but i just wanted to thank the CREATOR of THE ISLAND for representing us who are or has been homless, makes my heart feel a little bit warmer, does alot when you are sooo used to feel cold both inside and out 💖

Really awesome to see someone incorporate my hometown in ACNH, it's a pretty accurate representation and I like how the creator didn't shy away from the homeless camps as that is a HUGE issue here unfortunately :( If you ever get the chance to visit Portland the food places on this island are must visits!
