It really hit me to meet Justin this morning in this interview. I knew a sweet guy in the 70s that looked, spoke and lived a life of confusion like this young man. I wish for nothing but the best for Justin, this one breaks my heart.

The county needs to be held accountable for the lack of social services. They have the money. Without transparency on the plan and no accountability with county our tax dollars is wasted the cycle will continue. Who is in charge of Social Services?

@@JoeyBvr you are correct. You have better results. I had to stop and take 20 steps back as I sat in on the meetings. 1 thing that sticks out the most is they have no idea of the needs. The point in time count is a estimate of the past. I have asked multiple people has an outreach worker spoke to you. I haven’t received a yes to date. I am just a person who cares, who is demanding change. It is inhumane to continue to allow the same cycle to occur.

I live in Portland and was even a hardcore homeless heroin, and cocaine, addict for over a decade and want everyone to know that Portland has tons of services...you can become overweight from all the feeds we have everyday, there's day centers where you can hang out, shower, do laundry, get clothes, other services like getting a state ID or birth certificate...theres overnight shelters, there's even housing...housing that services can help you get or even find and get on your own. Sometimes it can happen really fast but yeah a lot of the real stable, long term subsidized housing does have waitlists but that's why you need to get on those lists the second you're ready to get off the streets because it can take a while and that's where the shelters and other services come into play to keep you safe and inside until housing comes to you...but you're never going to get housing if you don't do anything and just expect housing to just be offered because you've been homeless for so long. It's like anything in life, if you don't put the effort in you're not going to get anything. So when people tell you there's no housing or services here in Portland, and likely many other cities, know they're dead wrong and/or lying to you. There's tons of services here, some things just take more time and effort than others.

Poor kid, I hope he finds happiness. Unfortunately we cant force people to live as we do. Our little town had a fund raiser and got the 1 homeless guy setup in an apartment fully paid for a year and furnished with everything you need to start a home. After a few months he was back on the street and said he couldn't stand living indoors.

Oh boy😢He has a lot going on in there 🧠. I hear what he's saying and it's not the 1st nor the 2nd and it won't be the last. So many have stated they were medicated as a child for ADHD and after always felt the need later on in life to self medicate. They feel as though their body is missing something. Parents pay attention... Adderall and Ritalin are no good for little ones! Just let them be their best versions of themselves ❤ 🙏

A lot of homeless are coming up from Cali. But it’s sad to see this! I feel for the ones that lost everything and have no way out other than being homeless. There’s a lot of young homeless people homeless to because they’re lazy. But he seems like he wants to work but no address. I’ve met ones that never did drugs and now they’re addicted. Sir there's several other temp agencies. There's also work source to help you with a bus pass, job services, a phone, EBT, to help him start over again. I used to help people with resources or referral if he still needs any help.

I agree there is plenty of money to help those in need, also why is oregon not doing anything to help, not only we have money but why can’t we start with stop making and raising rent so high no one can afford it have rent control it’s like oregon is doing this intentionally. I have worked and now people who work full time but have to sleep and live in there cars, can we all start really thinking what’s really going on. No one should have to work full time and leave in cars because rent is so high make more jobs and job security has well😬I pray and give it to Jesus everyday and greatful he has the final say over everything 🙂
