is there a way to set Force Block Incoming Connections to Force Prompt Incoming Connections or is this a feature that can be added in the future? Everything else looks good as far as what I am looking for in this product

Portmaster is a must have program for me. Thanks for the work. I do have a question though and it's probably a dumb one, but when I boot and look at Portmaster, Microsoft Edge has like 30 something connections. I never use edge, don't even open it or have a shortcut so I block it. I'm guessing that's telemetry? or something? Is this a bad idea? or are Microsoft being creepy af?

the functionality you are talking about would have to be implemented in the browser, not on the system level. The ad should not show up if it is served though an ad vendor. But sometimes you still see the empty box, this is due to Portmaster not interacting with the web page but only the network traffic. we will need a browser extension to accomplish that, which might happen in the future.

Perhaps you should add a short info into the video's description what Portmaster is, instead of posting links from the get go. I got recommended this out of the blue and I've never heard of Portmaster before.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit fest zu legen, dass eine gewisse Applikation die SPN benutzt nur IP Adressen eines gewissen Staates verwendet? Es geht darum, dass gewisse Webseiten nur in gewissen IP Ranges zugänglich sind. Mit grossen VPN provider, wenn die Verbindung refreshed wird, verbindet sich der client nur mit VPN Server dieses spezifischen Landes. Vielen Dank im Voraus!!

Ja, es gibt in jedem App Profil ganz oben dein drop down. Wo du sowohl Land als auch Eu oder NA auswählen kannst.

can I use spn on one specific browser - say a brave browser - then have multiple instances of that browser connecting to the same website - all providing different IP addresses? Meanwhile I have different level of settings on the rest of my network / internet activities?

Yes you can easily enable spn on single apps. Or do it the other way round and disable it on specific apps. With spn the same domain will usually get the same ip., thereby mixing your use with all other spn users who access the same domain. But a single website will get multiple ips. Eg.: One for the photos one for the content one for the video…

Multi Language is something we would want to do in the future as well. But there is no timeline for now.

The application will not start after it has been closed. I cannot open the console. I tried running the app directly from the program data folder but it does nothing. The portmaster-core_v1-5-1.exe and the portmaster-start.exe service is showing in task manager but the console still will not load. It opened the first time after installing but since then it has not opened. The only way that I was able to get into the console was by opening this notifier C:\ProgramData\Safing\Portmaster\updates\windows_amd64 otifier\portmaster-notifier_v0-3-5.exe.

Can you send us the debug info please wiki.safing.io/en/FAQ/DebugInfo Also the ui is a different exe then the core process if the notifier. (Do you see the icon in the task bar?)

You don't have to change anything, just installing it and leaving it as it is will increase your privacy and security.
